I am getting ready to change my oil. Do I need a crush washer on the drain bolt?
Thanks

No, but you should have a spare O-Ring. Mine came apart both times I've changed my own oil.

...spend $2.50 for new drain plug. Or spend $0.25 for part #11105 o-ring...hmmm, I think I will buy the o-ring.

1$ or .25 cents for the oring, no biggie...

People spend up to $10 on a quart of oil.

you got ripped.
Not that it's a big deal but it just bugs me when dealers charge almost 4 times list price for a part.

Right off HDnet

That's ok. The dealer sold me two drain plug o-rings and two primary o-rings. It wasn't until I got home that I noticed that they were two different sizes. I couldn't stretch the "primary" o-rings over a pencil.

Doh!

Yeah, thanks Dave.

Like I'm not already riding the short bus.

I just never thought to look in the envelope before I left. I just assumed the parts guy would know.

I am now a smarter consumer!

Yeah I got ripped off, knew it when I handed over the green. Just told myself they were very special o-rings that a hardware store couldn't possibly carry...

Besides only a $1 o-ring is good enough to retain the Mobil 1 V-twin I was changing to!

Yeah, I wonder why HD of Cool Springs stopped carrying Buell.

Could it be that finding their butt with both hands in broad daylight was a challenge?

I think so.
