Just got the XB12Ss and at my first refueling the check engine light came on. Rode the bike home and it still runs fines. I took off the gas cap and put it back on and it went away the next time I started it. Then this morning I started it and it was there again. When I start the bike it will run for about two seconds and then it comes on. I read that there was a way for me to get to pins one and two to short them but I couldn't locate that plug under my seat or what the list of codes for the blinks, any info would be greatly appreciated.

strange, I went back out and took off the gas cap and wiped it down. There was a tiny smudge of what looked to be orange grease. Took that off and put it back on and no light once again. I will see in the morning if it is back because I have already been through this.

Is it possible your fuel tank vent is pinched somewhere?
Causing low fuel pressure until you remove the cap again

Possible muffler valve/actuator/servo issue.

Did it do this right after refuelling or after 160 miles?

It's been my experience on a Cali 9R that sometimes after refilling with the fuel level too high, that is with the fuel above the bottom hole in the inlet, the check engine light may come on and the engine may stumble for a little bit. But the CEL goes out after driving less than a mile usually.

So, I'm probably momentarily flooding the O2 sensor with gas from overfilling, thus triggering the CEL. I haven't checked the codes to confirm this though.

Got 337 miles on 07 xb12r. Stopped for gas
refuiled started bike and cel came on. pulled to the side sat for about 3minutes and it went away. just a thought but could the o2 censer be getting fumes from refilling the bike at gas up ? filled up once since and no cel.
