Hi all, How about those of you that have bought a Corbin seat for the Uly, can you post an update on fit, finish and comfort? Also those of you that do have one, any problem with wear on the wiring under the seat? And has anyone used the heat shields from Special Ops with the Corbin seat? |

I have 11,000 miles on my Uly and my Corbin seat. No problems, no rubbing on wires. I love my comfy corbin. I bought it because at the time the Buell Low seat was not available and i was tiptoeing way to much on the Uly. If you get one it does take time to break in the rubber grommet seating to the bike frame. Ensure you use the enclosed washers to expand the attachment hook height. Over time as the seat grommets break in you can remove the washers to tighten up the fit. I've never been on a Buell Low seat so I couldn't compare and contrast the two for you. I can tell you I've done a variety of long distance trips and feel completely comfortable on my corbin seat. I did 2800 miles in 8 days on a trip from Chicago to the Rocky Mountains and back and I'm sure the Corbin was one of the reasons why I was so comfortable the entire trip. |

I've only put about 3,000 miles on my Corbin, and I bought it for exactly the same reasons Marc outlined above. Bottom line, I think it is by far the best looking seat out there for a Uly, but as far as long distance comfort goes I probably can't offer much feedback as a couple hundred miles a day is as long distance as I have ever gotten. In terms of your other questions, no rubbing issues of any type with mine (not on wiring, ecm, or top of motor cover) and it fit right on the very first try (no shaving down the rubber stops, or adding washers, etc. required). Sweet seat and allot easier to move around on if you're a hang-off style rider, but somehow I got used to the stock seat and now like to corner while sitting up off the high side of the seat (sort of motard'ish), so I will probably sell the Corbin after all. Then again, maybe not just because it looks so good on it! |
