I'm on my second speedometer ('96 S1), and my second speedo cable now that I think of it. Anyway, I was riding yesterday with a buddy who just bought a GSXR 600 and our speedos where off 9mph at 60. His said 60 and mine said 51. I think mine was right because the speed limit was 55 and people were passing us like we were standing still. We were trying to keep it around the speed limit because we saw 24 cops in 175 miles! Has anyone else had issues with the accuracy of their speedos? |

Cereal, Jap bikes are noted for being very optimistic. 10% is not unusual at all. check out any cycle world or motorcyclist test, they usually report speedo error. I've checked my x1 via a GPS at its within 3 mph. I wouldn't use another bike, use a car or a GPS for calibration. |
