First gear with a full fist of throttle sure pulls that wheel up in the air. Apparently the motoman method worked. |

Yep...I can raise mine at will, and coming out of corners hard in second gear will float it too. Buy a steering damper for that occasion where you land the front end a bit crooked. |

To tell you all the truth, I'd just as soon the front wheel stayed firmly planted on the ground. Half the time the front wheel is floating like Chad said. Going around a corner and opening up the throttle is a bit nerve racking at times with the front wheel barely touching. |

Naaaah!!! That's fun as hell. My Ducati does it too, but not nearly as bad as a Superhawk a friend of mine had. That damn thing would wheelie out of corners. Now THAT was scary! |

I'd think suspension adjustment may help keep the front planted. Less stiff rear and more/quicker rebound to the front? DAve |

I have a Superhawk and a Uly.... Superhawk is wheelie city coming out of corners in third gear. Hell yea!! both Great fun. The Buell is much harder to launch from low speed and keep the front down though. You'll never win any drag races with it. But that aint what it's for. |

Rider input has a lot to do with the front launching. It's all about where the weight is on the bike. If I'm packin a pillon, it launches VERY easy! Try leaning forward coming out of the corners. It does help a lot especially if you're a big guy like me. The bike is a total wild ride and loves to be ridden hard. My tires hate it though. BC Steve |

Steve, You are correct. I typically don't have much of an issue with the front end if I remember to keep my head forward, low, and to the inside of the turn. Basically keep your up by the mirrors. Chin bar should be sticking out over the hand guard. Different bike, but correct posture.
Yes...that's me. I look like a monkey humping a football on that tiny Ducati. |
