Mxer83...Room reservations are the important thing at this point.

The basic activities are listed above and whatever Buell and BRAG bring to the table is just going to be the icing on the cake.

I'm as anxious as you are to know the details, but if I let it get to me it won't do anyone, especially me, any good.

So sit back and enjoy the ride. I'm betting this will be the best Homecoming yet!

Nothing was even close to spanking the Buells at Daytona in the straights that I saw

You didn't see the line of Buells at the factory during he 20th ;)

Dumb Question of the Week...

Does the BRAG/HOG reciprocity thing apply, or is this event an exception?

The reason I ask is the homecoming announcement uses the phrase "BRAG Members Only" quite a bit.

I own both, but only belong to HOG as they claim to cover either bike in the Roadside Assistance program and claim full reciprocity.

Man is this a lame schedule or what? Why no mention of Appleton Buell or Halls?

Could be that they're just giving lots of room for the do-it-yourselfers. Granted that not all Buell owners visit this site, but there is still time to get an updated schedule into the publication that is supposed to be sent out to BRAG members (I think there is anyway). Not sure what the official rules are for posting non-official events on the BRAG section of the Buell.com web site.

Give the organizers, both the BRAG folks and DIYer folks as well as various dealership folks, time to now coordinate and firm up logistics and plans.

Hal's may be more focused on their participation in the local Milwaukee Rally event, but I'm sure they'll have something going on that weekend for folks who can't make it to RoadAmerica.

We know that Daves @ Appleton Harley/Buell is working on stuff for the weekend.

Plan your trip, and use any posted schedules as just general guides to keep an eye on.

I'm thinking Buell/BRAG did what they could to compliment the schedule that was already in progress. I always get a little confused with semantics as to me it is a Buell homecoming and BRAG is a tool to help make it happen. Me, I am there to honor Erik, BMC, HDI and the all star supporting cast of hundreds.

To be honest with you, I think Buell and Hal's will be jumping through Hula Hoops to prep for the races. Fortunately, Appleton sponsors Hoban's Buell effort and most likely isn't that involved manpower wise. Plus, they are hosting Friday evenings activities and perhaps more. Not to mention Dave has earned the right to be this years Homecoming HQ, especially, when you consider his dedication to Buell and all Buell's customers. Additionally, IMO, there aren't any other Buell dealers of any consequence in the State.

Looks like it is now up to the original gents that were working on this years homecoming to come up with the Saturday Evening Itinerary and one or two others to think up stuff for those that don't go to the races. Hmmm...Think there will be any?

Not to worry, these guys did a top notch job for the Buell 20th and you can expect the same extravaganza if not better this go round. Plus, it is the people you meet that make the event and the cast of characters coming from all over the world to this event are sure to be wildly entertaining. Right, Court?

Oh, did I mention that Appleton is a Party Town? Not to mention the majority of the LEO's will be focused on the Elkhart Lake area that weekend. Appleton is just far enough away from that hoard to kick back and enjoy whatever without too much attention from the LEO's.

So put your concerns aside and just plan on a fun weekend with your fellow Bueller's and an exciting weekend at the races.

I talked with Kirk(The owner of Hals) on Tuesday. He said he was trying to get Reg to come on over for a Saturday Battletrax.

But I've got plans to go talk with Kirk this afternoon. In my opinion, BRAG screwed the pooch on this thing for too long. And kinda miffed everyone off. Again, this is just *MY* opinion.

I'll report anything else I hear back this evening.

Spidey...Great Idea. Just save me the Oldest Hooter's Gal you can find. I don't want to risk the ticker on one of those young hard bodies.

Yeah, like that is going to happen. Plus, I don't think I could handle the laughter.

Think I will check out how late the senior center is open. Perhaps I can get a date for the Rolling Stone's Video Concert.

Josh...read the fine print.

Get a ticket at Buell and you can be someone's guest for $5.00. Heck, you might be able to do that with a regular ticket from RA. It hasn't been addressed as of yet.

I'm sure someone would lay claim to you for a few hours so you can play with the Big Dogs.

Worst case scenario...I will be in the same boat as a HOG member.

Heading into a 5:30PM meeting but I see all the making of a GREAT WEEKEND.

Sounds like a few details to work out, but I am darn sure where I will be Saturday night.

: )

Film at 11:00.

We're going to have a GREAT time!

Steve....While I appreaciate the effort that Hal's is putting forward, is it really worth their headache? I'd guess that his turnout would be minimal, at best.

Now....my personal opinion...have Hal's sponsor a Friday morning breakfast (like we did for the 20th). Then a parade to the factory.

Good?. . . good?. . you call that good? Drop and give me 20 Private. . . this is gonna be

GREAT!

Here's the way I see it. . . .

THURSDAY
I've got reservations at the Country Inn in East Troy for Thursday night. I explained to the gal several times "yes ma'am, he is a REAL Australian". I'm not altogether clear how I am going to break it to Paul, but to get the discount; I committed him to hop across the parking lot "Kanga Style". We'll need booze for this. . . no problem.

FRIDAY

You know. . . you just KNOW. . the place is gonna be hopping at the factory. If you think you get excited about Homecoming, you have no idea how cranked up the factory folks get. You never really know what's going to happen. I've seen everything from Erik getting carried away with a 1-hour seminar and turning into something akin to college physics final review to Laurie giving a demonstration of how Blast's as "Toss Tested". This is prime stuff. I challenge anyone to walk away from the factory not feeling like part of the family of Elves.

STILL FRIDAY

Okay. . . neigh on about 2:00PM or so, I'm gonna start thinking about filtering on towards APPLETON, WI and getting checked in. At 4:30PM SuperDave rolls out the red carpet for the assembled Buellers. There's food involved so there are s certain core group you can bet you'll see here. Dave has some secret goodies and I'm thinking it's going to be nothing but a hoot and a holler. As any experienced Buellisimo Homecominist will tell you.....it's the parking lot man...it's ALL about the parking lot. Some of the best times will happen right here, meeting and making new friends.

Now, in deference to SuperDave's mounting years, at 9:30PM our butts are out...OUT nad he's off for his beauty rest.

Generally, based on past history, the group usually has little problem finding things to do after 9:30PM and if Spidey is on hand....well, there's a story in the making.

SATURDAY

Kids it's not JUST race day, it's time for BUELL RACING. Can you believe it or what? We'll be on hand at Road America, in large part Buell's "home turf" to watch the inauguration of Buells on this track.

The FX races will happen after the Superbike races and you can figure on about 4:30PM. During the day, there will be B.R.A.G.-a-tality, demos and TONS to do. This is a great track to walk and wander at. HINT: Bring comfy walking shoes!

SATURDAY NIGHT

Me? . . I'll be celebrating. But wait. . . it gets better. I'll be celebrating at the VICTORIAN VILLAGE as THE THUNDERBOLTS take the stage for a couple hours of original hard-hitting rock and roll and a hand full of kick-butt covers of some of my favorites! HINT: Bring ear plugs!

Color me . . .
A L L
O V E R
T H I S
D E A L !

Yes. . . I secured a discount by committing Paul to . . . . well, never mind, you'll have to be there!

Repeat parking lot and Spidey gig . . .

SUNDAY

Well. . . I'll be taking my SCU and Pet Australian back to the airport mid-day, but there will also be another full day of racing on tap at Road America!

BOTTOM LINE

Lame? I think not. . . . this is going to be (based on doing this since 1987) the finest BUELL HOMECOMING since the kids caught the cat in the blender!

I look forward to seeing everyone!

Court

P.S. - major thanks to ALL the good folks who have all been working so hard to make sure vacationing Buell fans have a great time. What we may have lacked in military precision in coordination we overcame with enthusiasm and we're going to have one fine time. This is my 19th year and I'm looking forward to a spectacular time with my friends and the Australian

Well, I see this whole thing is still going to end up a clusterfuck, and Hals get the short end of the stick for officially being asked to host the event. Gotta love it!

How 'bouts next time a Brag event gets planned, maybe someone might wanna try and contact Brag first? So this whole thing wont be like this next time? I still find this difficult to swallow, that I was in no way involved with the planning of this event, yet I was the *ONLY* one to contact brag? and get a response?

As I've explained to Court in emails, Kirk ran by several scenerios about the weekend, with "0" feedback from BRAG. So he contacts Reg to do a battletrax event, gets some things lined up, and even before the deadline, Buell posts *NO INFO* concerning any of this.

And here comes Court, posting a schedule, with also nothing to do with Hals. Thanks buddy!

Friday, I am hitting the factory early and hanging for all the tours and all the talks. When he Engineers stop talking I will take the long way to appleton, hang for an hour or two and then head back to Milwaukee for the night. If Hal's did an early morning thing I would be in for that. Other than that I think Steve is correct in that Hal's is sorta out of luck unless they do stuff on Thursday. I think a fair number of folks would be up for a Thursday event.

I'll hit RA about noon, hang out until the races are over then hit Elkhart and hang at Seibkins and catch the Thunderbirds before heading home.

Court...any clue as to the approximate time frame at the Victorian Village?

Dennis, Dana, Spidey, Dave, Steve(?)...

Anyone care to add anything to Court's nearly militaristic timetable?

Things like Friday night after Dave's Event, Group ride to Road America, Saturday night Dinner, Group ride back to Appleton, Spidey's Friday and Saturday nights "Howl at the Moon" contest, Saturday and Sunday Mourning Breakfast joints to meet at, Tour's in and around Elkhart Lake like The Nallin Experience, Hoban's, whatever...Just a few ideas that I believe were already tossed around.

In the event you have something in the offing, but want a time out to finalize your plans, please say so.

So far I am really jazzed about the events that have been announced and am just looking for a little more sugar coating so we can get an idea where to meet up in the event we get separated. Those ClusterThingy's can get real messy.
