Hello once again to all my fellow Buellers!!! I mentioned this in the early stages but thought I'd start a new thread. Below you'll find the official press release from the Green Bay Packers in regards to Jerry Parins Cruise for Cancer. I've been very involved in this event since the beginning. It will be a great event for all football and motorcycle enthusiasts. The inaugural Jerry Parins Cruise for Cancer, a motorcycle ride to benefit cancer patients and families throughout Northeastern Wisconsin, will be held Saturday, June 12, 2004, it was announced Friday. Departing from Lambeau Field at 11 a.m., the ride will take motorcyclists on scenic Northeastern Wisconsin roads to Vandervest Harley-Davidson in Peshtigo, Wis., where riders will be able to enjoy food, beverages, live music and a 50/50 raffle. The ride then returns to Lambeau Field where more food, beverages and live music await. Live auction items also will highlight the post-ride event at Lambeau Field. Parins, the Green Bay Packers' director of corporate security, is currently battling cancer and has been strengthened by the support he has received and pledged to help other families fight the disease. "I've received so much help and support by many friends and family in the area that I wanted to organize something to do the same for others battling this disease," said Parins. "During my treatment, I've met many other cancer patients and their families. These are special people going through trying times and every bit of assistance that can be offered goes a long, long way. "I'm excited about this ride and we hope it becomes one of the larger such events in the area and in the state." "Everyone here at the Packers is excited for this event and for Jerry," said Packers President and CEO Bob Harlan. "From my own experience with cancer, I know how crucial the support of friends and family is to the fight. This ride is a great way for supporters to get together and raise money for area patients and their families." The event also will feature appearances by Green Bay Packers players and coaches. Additionally, riders who pre-register by June 5 are eligible for a chance to win two tickets to a Packers 2004 home game. In addition to the Green Bay Packers, Vandervest Harley-Davidson and Vandervest Custom Cycles are supporting the event. The entrance fee is $10 per rider. Participants can pre-register at Vandervest Harley Davidson, 810 Frontage Road, Peshtigo and at Vandervest Custom Cycles, 1800 Velp Ave., Green Bay. Registration forms also can be downloaded at www.packers.com. Riders also can register the day of the ride, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Lambeau Field and at 10 a.m. at Vandervest Harley Davidson in Peshtigo. Ride route information is available through Vandervest Harley-Davidson's website at www.vvhd.com. Here's also a link to register: Cruise for Cancer While I know most of us Buell riders don't enjoy the "parade" mentality, this is a worthwhile event that I'd like to encourage you to attend. And as a added "incentive", a little bird has told be that among the players tentatively confirmed to attend are Brett Favre, Ahman Green, Marco Rivera and Mike Wahle. If you'd like any additional information, feel free to contact me at fenrickd@packers.com Thanks for reading!!!! Dennis |

Hey all....It's time for the 2nd Annual Jerry Parins Cruise for Cancer motorcycle event. This year's ride will take place on Saturday, June 11. I could put all the info in here but instead, please click this link Cruise for Cancer. There are a few more Buell folks involved in planning this year's ride. We'd REALLY like to have a good turnout from the Buell riders in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me here or at fenrickd @ packers.com. Thanks for taking the time to look! Dennis |
