If, only...

We would love to take a trip like that together...but as our children require more than normal supervision and we are keeping one of the neighbors kids(Dads in Iraq-Mom works wacked hours) to help them out that limits our together trips to extremely rare occasions. She would love a trip like that(although she still is a little sore about the 100mph+ trip on the Bolt)...

Kristi - Comming back on Sunday works for me. Actually either will work, but Sunday is my preference.

Dave and I are confirmed for March Badness. We will be leaving Friday afternoon to evening. We will be taking our trailer with at least the Lightning and possibly the Sportster. We will be coming back to NC Sunday because Dave has to work Monday AM. We have room for 2 (or 3 in a pinch or if your not to big) in the Jeep. Possibly we could get 1 more bike on the trailer.

OK - the cabin is ours! The lady called and will call again later on a landline to give me her address, etc. Cell phone reception in that area is not great. She said the cabin was ours and not to worry about anything. If you go to Suches.com and look at Suches Vacation Rentals, ours is The Retreat at Cooper's Pond.

We will leave Friday AM if that works for Jim Nance & Jim Rainey. We are also coming back on Sunday (guess I was trying for the extra day!!). Our Suburban so far has 5 passengers and the trailer has 2 Ulys. There is room for one more bike and 3 other passengers. If you only need room for gear, there's room for that as well.

Since Pauletta and I will be in the trucks, we will also go some "light" grocery shopping and take the coolers. The question is what type of munchies, drinks, beer, etc. would everyone like? Pauletta and I are willing to cook a big breakfast each morning, leaving us only to eat out late afternoon/early evening. Carlos says that the food at TWO is excellent and reasonable. We would only ask that all going to stay in the cabin contribute to the food/drinks as well. Is this agreeable to everyone?

Thanks Kristi, I'm so glad I didn't have to plan this. It's very agreeable.

Buelletta - Take the Sportster!

Kristi,

Did you see what I saw? Game Table???? Sounds like some hand and foot or rummikub to me. Cards and a blender will work for the night time.

I do remember seeing a game table now that you mention it. We'll pack a bag of games -- could get interesting! I'm really looking forward to this trip. Daddy and Joan will have the children and Jennifer will have the cats and dogs! FREEDOM!!

For what it's worth, I'm one of those people who can't stand to be in bed after the sun comes up. And I can cook. I'm willing to help with or just do breakfast if you like.

Also does the place have a grill? If so it might be fun to grill steaks on Saturday night. It will be cheaper than going out and potentially a lot more fun and less stressful.

Jim,

I'm guessing Friday night we will probably be at the cabin. But Saturday night you know everyone is going to be at TWO for evening meal and entertainment. Particularly if Erik shows up. Sunday will be riding and then bugging out. So we will probably eat meals on the road. Plus I imagine we will have to be out of the cabin early.

Jim -- you've got yourself a job -- first one up has to make the coffee (or at least press the "go" button!). There is a charcoal grill there as well. Steaks on the grill will work for me. We can rip open a bag of salad -- bam, dinner's done! I'm totally open. I can pick up steaks and salad from Sams.

The cabin looks like it will be a wonderful place to spend a weekend. The owner seems very friendly and says that everything is there so that her guest don't have to do so much work when they get there. Well equipped kitchen, paper products, bath and bed linens. All we have to take is our own food and personal items.

The owner is sending me a contract, other information and directions to the cabin. I've already paid the first 1/2 to hold our reservation. We will check in Friday and leave on Sunday.

Temping yet Larry? Is there any family member that you trust to watch your children for those few days? Your wife can ride in the Suburban with us. I realize that children come first. Just something to think about.

Of course its tempting...Its just with the disabilities its hard for anyone to handle the kids and that doesn't include our neighbors kid. With her husband in Iraq, we are about the only thing that resembles family she has within 400 miles. Sheri will tell me to go, but its never as much fun when she is stuck at home and I am out playing. Larry

Larry, I agree. Riding with Kristi is just a blast for me and I would not be going if she wasn't coming.

For those of us leaving early Friday, I was doing the MapQuest thing since I remembered that the Dragon is not far from Suches. If we do not follow the MapQuest thing and ride straight across NC, we can be on the Dragon by 2pm. A not so quick ride up and back then finish the 60 miles to T.W.O. Just a thought.

Hey y'all!
Could I get y'all to make a list of everyone coming to MB3 on the MB3 thread?
This year's Badness is growing so fast!
Who'd a thought that a little Buell demo ride would grow into this?

Okay, what's up with Daytona? Who is going? My wife wants to go, well, wants me to go and she wants to visit her parents over in Ocala which is about 2 hrs away. I need to find a trailer to haul my bike down in.

Here are some pictures of my bike. I changed the color, yep, dipped in in Rit Dye. : )

I have the Buell American Motorcycle stickers on order. They should be here some time next week. Poor guy at NRHD parts didn't know you could order them. He thought you had to order the whole cover. : )

Oh and I am going to Daytona...not sure about the trailer though.

You and Spike are on the fence. As far as for the trailer you can use mine. I kind of like the idea of having it in the area just in case.

It seems that this will be the place to be for Buellers this year. The plans for the race and the BBQ at VegasBueller's afterward sound like they will be a real blow out.

As far as for the meeting, we have moved it to Saturday, February the 11th in Goldsboro. This seems to be centrally located since we have people from Jacksonville and New Bern on one side and Raliegh on the other. I would like to have the meeting relatively early, say 11am. I still need to talk to John Martindale at Shelton's if this works for everybody and then I'll send an e-mail to everyone about the meeting. I hoping the weather holds and we can get lunch and then take the afternoon and ride around roads that Dave and I know in the area.

Give me feedback!! If this works I'll call or e-mail John and send the e-mail to all C3ers, including the ones that do not post on Badweb.

Do we know who is staying in the cabin with us? It would be nice to have a number to plan the meals and snacks by.

Jim- you and Rebecca are staying in the cabin aren't you?

Kristi- I know you and Carlos are.

Dave and I are in I know.

Brankin- you are too right?

Anyone else?

Kristi- As soon as we get firm numbers, I will get you the money to pay our share. I know you had to put half upfront, so we need to get you your money back. We can estimate grocery cost at a later date. Thanks for your pre-planning, I know we all appreciate it.

Jim -- I'm waiting to hear from U4ueh and Rubberdown. I've sent them e-mails to see if they want to share the cabin or if they have other arrangements. As soon as I hear from them, I can let you know. I'll also let you know the cost per person once we confirm how many will be staying. So for right now, it's a wait and see game. Do you know someone else who is interested in going? We may have couch or floor space.
