Be a part of Buell history! I just spoke with Jim Scala at MotoTech solutions, who is also a part owner of Powerpegs. I have been looking for a set of dual sport footpegs for the Ulysses and looked into a couple of unfeasible solutions. Then I learned about Powerpegs(see link):http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130071 Anyway, I called Powerpegs and spoke with Jim about the Ulysses' need for a better footpeg. He is willing to build a prototype for our motorcycle but he needs a right and left driver's footpeg(for now) for design purposes. Does anyone know of a set of pegs from a bike that is not running or not being used? He said after they were done with them they would be returned. If nobody is able to do this by Friday night I know where I can probably get ahold of a spare set of footpegs to use temporarily. I'll send him mine in that case. Come on, this is really good news.

It would be interesting to see if pegs could be designed that are about an inch lower than the stock pegs. Then, getting the brake and shift levers adjusted to work with the lowered pegs would be the next hurdle.... Some folks would not like the reduced lean angle caused by lowered pegs. I would like to at least try them to see if I liked them. Grub Fer Ponder'n |

Fly- I'll let you know this weekend. I agree with the lowered peg idea. My lowered seat has put me in too much of a squat position that gets really uncomfortable on long rides. We need some way to adjust the peg position. The shifter is not so much a problem as the rear brake as there would be a clearance problem at the point where the lever meets the clevis. |

I've had the notion of modifying some nice bmx bicycle peddles to use as pegs. They have more surface area and rotate. The rotation doesn't seem to be a problem to the crazy bmx bike trickters and it's never been a problem when I ride bicycles. They could even be made to fold out of the way in case of a spill. It's been in the back of my mind for some time. They grip the heck out of your shoes. |

Javadog, I will be flying out on Sunday but I'm willing to take the pegs off before I leave if you need them. Will definitely need them back before mid October because I'll be itching for a long ride real bad by then. No lower pegs for me thanks, stock seat position works great. Tim |
