Why would anyone want a smaller engine in a ULY?

Had two XB9's and now have the XB12X. I prefer the XB9 motor for the type of riding I do.

With the Uly's extra weight and two-up/luggage potential and the competition market, it probably needed the XB12 engine, otherwise I think I'd rather have one with the XB9 motor in it.
