I have a 2005 xb12r and my front cylinder is knocking. Does any one know what this problem could be? Please help... |

Sure its a knock. Could it be a tick? Are you still under warranty? |

How many miles? Why do you feel it's the "front cyl"? Could it be a loose primary chain? Mine got louder and louder until I hit probably about 5K miles. I seem to remember that at one point it sounded like a knock from the front cyl... |

hows it RUN? loss of power? check the spark plugs? compression test? rpm specific? louder on decel, or while rpms are dropping? how loud, does it drown out the exhaust sound? are you refering to a ping or spark knock or do you mean a KNOCK like some one with an oak two by four rapping on the cylinder rapidly? what is the last maintenance performed on the bike? will it attain the rev limit in the lower 4 gears? more information would help with a diagnosis. |
