So I picked up The July Cycle World because it has a wild looking custom Sport on the cover and is dedicated to "American Flyers" While reading about the cover bike the writer slips in a nice little compliment about Buells. On page 43, 2nd column from the left, second paragraph it reads (On CW's long-term Buell XB12S, a bike I like better and better the crustier I get) Sweetness |

They also listed the City X as a runner up in the Bike of the Year contest. |

And I'd have to agree. The CityX is my favorite current bike Buell sells. I rode every model back to back about a month ago 12R, 12S, 12SCG, 9R, Blast, and CityX. All day long while helping Hal's HD with the factory demo fleet. The iBuell was the most comfortable, most fun bike in the fleet IMHO. Still wont replace my S3T though ![: )](http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/clipart/happy.gif) |

I came to that same conclusion yesteday at a Demo Day. I also like a Race Kit installed 984 better than a stock 1200. The delivery of the power, IMHO, seems smoother. One slip on the clutch with the 12r and 12s and HELLO SKY. |

Hehe, funny that you should say that. After I hit the 500 mark on my 12Scg I learned real quick that you can't shift quickly from first to second at high revs without changing your horizon. I agree that the 9SX is the most well balanced street bike. I rarely ride in traffic though and I'm almost exclusively on the back roads so the 12 suits me fine. If I ever move to civilization I'd consider trading to a 9SX. (Message edited by metalstorm on June 12, 2005) |

The CityX is also on the front cover of the June 2nd issue of "Machine Design". I'll post the article one I get home, and have access to a scanner. |

Elff, make fun all you want, but I have a subscription to that magazine. It's an engineering thing. Anyways, that's the second time that Buell was in an engineering magazine this year. I lent out the mag before I had a chance to read it and never got it back. Either way it is an amazing machine, and the translucent plastic has drawn a ton of attention in the engineering world to the bike. |

I've noticed that while running my 12Scg though the gears a shift into 3rd brings the front wheel up pretty good too!!!![](http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/clipart/biggrin3d.gif) |

Steve, That mag is sitting on my desk too, pretty cool. Dan, as a fellow geek you should know that there is a whole subculture of techno freaks and their secret societies. |

Phantom Im a complete computer geek so im partially pointing the finger at myself
Coming from an inline four, the torque of the 9 is already insane for me, then add a race kit and wowsa. The 12, since I am a newbie in regards to Buells is just a little too much for me. Im only 1100 miles into my new life So the smoother delivery of the 9 with a race kit is more comfortable to me. |

Elff, I'm just ribbing you. I think it's funny how bad of a reputation we (engineers/me) get for being such geeks. When I take a step back and look at it from someone else's perspective, I'm shocked at how big of a nerd I really am! |

I look at it this way Nerds get paid good money
That money allowed me to purchase a motorcycle, and our logical side led us to a Buell because of all the cool engineering and real world useability |

well I can chime in .. and add that being a systems administrator and an electronics engineer in a previous life ... yes .. Nerds do get paid well .. and that we can all see the incredible technology that went into this bike .. as well as it being most .. if not all some one would ever need on the street .... |
