Have just hit the 10000 mile mark, ran all day yesterday, about 175, miles in the 90's with high humidity. Bike was great..... THEN, after a stop by the Buell dealership, 10 - 15 min, then a 10 min blast through some twisties, I stopped for dinner, about an hour... When I went to start the bike, it acted like the battery was too weak. I hit the starter button, and got a few clicks and some buzzing. I did this twice, then out of futility, One more try, and it clicked, then turned over. It was a twenty min ride home. I have run it twice since, without a problem. Concerns? Any input appreciated, thanks |

Yes, put a wrench on those battery connections even if the cables feel tight. Mine did the same thing. Problem went away after giving the terminal bolts a 1/4 to 1/2 turn. |

Check for corrosion under the battery terminal wires. You want bright shiney terminals and lugs. |

Okay, so my bike is acting stupid again. It wasn't the battery terminal wires being loose after all. The negative side if the starter switch terminal had a lot of corrosion on it. I took the throttle housing apart and cleaned up the starter switch terminal and now all is good. |

You had the ignition turned to the park instead of the lock position? Lights left on and drained the battery? That's what happened to me! |

Nope,( drained the batt not to long after I bought the thing by doing that little number, very careful not to any more ) I have been through several start cycles since then, and happened once again. I'll be checking the cables first thing Wed. morn. Thanks guys |

This has happened to me on at least 5 occasions over the 21 months I have had the bike. It always happened when it was a hot day and all my trips were short rides and starting again after a short stop. I have checked all my connections and they were fine. If this happens again I will let you know. (Message edited by rkc00 on June 14, 2005) |
