I have a d&d slip on muffler and I have about 2500 miles on it with no problems, my stock header is blue and is a little scratched up and I'm considering buying the full system, is there any difference in sound or performance between the two set ups, a little louder would be alright with me, its either the d&d full system or the force with the baffle, hmmmm. |

im not sure about the difference in sound.there might be a different muffler for the d&d full system tho i would check that first before ordering the pipes. i have the full system and its pretty loud but not annoying to me or those around me. the performance is great and i havent been able to break it no matter how hard i try. plus i dont think i have heard any complaints from any one at all about the system. there is more info in the archives on this site about it to if you wanna look there. good luck |

The full race system is VERY different from the slip on. The full race system uses a much different 2 into one collector and seperate head pipes that add a LOT of power through the mid and upper RPM range. I highly recommend the D&D full race system. It sounds unbelievable and it does not have the breaking problems that the Force has. |

I have an 02 X1 Lightning and I just purchased the Full D&D exhaust system and Race Ecm from DaveS..I haven't received it yet but I can't wait, It's hard starting, spits and sputters all the time out of the air box. I rode a buddy's XB9s and it's has so much more power than my x1 lightning..I'm Hoping that this D&D/Ecm system will change all that. |

MikeE has the full D&D on his Millinum X1. I got the chance to throw a leg over it last year. Wow! That thing pulls like a monster! With normal throttle settings it's not too loud. In fact not much more than a V&H or a Supertrapp with the open end cap. But, when you get on it hard, it really barks. It's a very deep throaty sound with not much "cackle". It just plain sounds mean. Mike's bike was a stock X1 with the exception of the race ECM, Forcewinder and the D&D. If the additional noise doesn't bother you, go for it! JMHO Brad |
