Hi all,

After my breakin im going to put the cash down for a D&D. I was wondering if there was anything else i need to buy besides the extra rear clamp. Can i run it with stock ecm? And also where is the best place to buy it from? Thanks

I did some research on here and everyone seems to do it differently.
Ive read keep it at 3500 rpms at about 20mph for about 10 minutes to let ur stock ecm reconfigure itself n u should be alright, then Ive read u NEED the race ecm. So which is it? Do i need it? I really hate spend the money on something If I don't need it. If my bike runs the same now with a D&D i'll be happy i could care less about 6hp gains, I want that sound.

o

12 Airbox and a K&N filter.
You have to let this beast breathe, It loves Oxygen, lots of it...

You can either go with a Race ECM or the TECHLUSION EFI on the stock ECM, both are very similar.

Apart from that... ENJOY...

TFI with stock ECM rules over just the Race ECM.

I called D&D tech line and they said their pipe is the best with no other mods. Call them to make sure. I love the pipe but dont trust their tech line.

TFI part # FI-1045ST ? is this correct? Man... this is gonna cost more than i wanted it too.... Maybe i'll just take a playing card and put it on the backwheel

Ok so now my next question, will any of this cause me issues with my Warranty?

Got1, I bought one of these for my son. You can hear him coming down the street, he's got the loudest bike between all his ridin' buddies.

Nice question that:
Yeah they will say it voids your warranty, but it's easy to remove if it does detonate...

Call Dave S at Appletons, the TFI is $227 approx.
Yes, the FI-045ST is the ducks guts.

easy to install and sits under the seat.
takes about an hour to install.

Yeah im gonna buy from DAVES no doubt but its hard to let go of all that cash just for a pipe. I think the race kit is gonna be the way to go. Seems to be the best value and it sounds better than the stock, but man I love the D&D. Just hate to spend it on all that extra stuff.

Think of it this way.
If you modify one thing, you have to follow the chain to get the full effect.
You can run the D&D with out anything else, there are people here that do, no problems.
IMHO you just won't get all you could get without the TFI.

Got1nut,
As a bike buyer you get 15% off your parts for one year!
I hope this helps.
I have everything except the air cleaner(they are on backorder, yes I am trying to get to the bottom of this)in stock.
So,
D+D 506.56
TFI 210.80
Air box 29.71 or race ecm 178.46
Filter 55.21

i recently got a D&D from daveS. The bike was set up with the full race kit and putting the D&D on and the 12 airbox made a big difference. The bike revs up faster and sounds amazing. I'm yet to do the dyno run but i plan on getting it done this summer. Spend the extra cash on the d&D, get a race ecm, 12 airbox and K&N filter and you are good to go
