Why I do/don't ride a Buell: |
I grew up around Harleys but gave up on them in the early 80's when they were owned by AMF. I stuck to Japanese bikes after that. When I retired I wanted to learn how to do my own wrenching and Sporters have a reputation for being easy to work on. That and a feeling of nostalgia led me to buy an '02 XL883R. I soon realized the bike just didn't fit. I could only ride it for about 20 minutes before my back started to complain. I stumbled across an X1 for sale cheap and the ergonomics turned out to be perfect. With a tuber I get a great ride, an easy to work on bike, and a whole new hobby of tracking down parts.
