Why I do/don't ride a Buell: |
I like to ride Buells because they are different and I always said I would ride an American Sportbike when they made one, well they made one!
|
How can Buell improve their motorcycles?: |
Freedom to develop a true sportbike motor seperate from Harley, not a 145hp copy of Japan. Think out side the box.

Life History/Philosophy: |
I started riding about 20 years ago, on a 1977 Suzuki GT550, then I purchased a 1982 Yamaha 920 Seca, which gave me a love affair with a sporting twin, followed by a 1992 FZR, then a 1994 Suzuki RF900, then came a 1999 Harley Davidson and finally a 2000 M-2. I grew up in El Paso, Texas and develped a love affair for motorcycles from my father, he owned a Triumph and a Ariel Square four. So my love for off-beat bikes is well documented. I bought my first bike when I was in college at BYU in 1980. I had to ride the Rockies. It's just been a bad habit ever since. Worst accident was 5 years ago when I was hit by a lady in a Ford Tempo. I was sitting still she was going 60mph. I got to spend 3 weeks in the hospital get a chest tube and feel the joy of a broken ankle. I have a deep seated love for riding and road trips. My longest ride was from El Paso to New Orleans then to Winnipeg Ont. and then backdown to El Paso. I also love to run and tried to qualify for the Olympic trials in 1984 in the Marathon, I have run a 2:18:45, and still love to run. It all just goes to show that I am a sick person. Funniest story is when my Buell killed a 75lb Pitt Bull and lived to tell about it. In fact the only damage to the bike was a hole in the oil filter, from that point on the Buell has been The "Black Beast"! My most embarrasing moment was when I looped my FZR while trying to bate a Camaro into racing me!
