Performance Mods!: | - Race ECM - American Sport Bike Race Oval Intake - Full D&D (ceramic coated blue by Embee in Santa Ana... didn't work very well so it has been wrapped black) * the D&D is VERY LOUD - Banke shifter linkage (thanks to a cone on the freeway) Planned / considering - XB wheels with perimeter brakes - Hydraulic Clutch |
Problems/Miles (Please be specific): | Purchased NEW February 2nd 2005 w/ 1 yr. warranty - 0 Miles - Fuel Pump bad from factory. Warranty replacement Cracked Primary Inspection Cover - 3,400 Miles - Front Rocker Box Gasket. Warranty replacement (dealer replaced with stock paper gasket. pointless waste of time) Front Brake Hanging - new rotor - 4,000 Miles - loose oil pump line (oil all over tire. messy) - 5,100 Miles - Primary Cover gasket pushed out at bottom (replaced with upgrade metal re-enforced gasket) - 10,400 Miles - Detent Plate retaining clip broke. (last week on warranty) - 11,150 Miles - Rear Rocker Box Gasket. replaced with upgraded metal gasket. Front Rocker Box Gasket, even though it hadn't failed yet. replaced with upgraded metal gasket Starter vibrated loose and wrecked seal. - 12,000 Miles - the day of the $100 spark plug *head temp sensor, O2 sensor, swapped ECM, problem persisted. Turned out to be bad rear plug. (Thanks to Al Lighton for his patience that day) - 13,200 Miles - Gearcase Cover gasket (replaced with upgrade metal re-enforced gasket) - 15,504 Miles - Detent Plate retaining clip broke. A $.50 part... unbelievable frustration #$@*! - 26,000 Miles - Pulsating fuel pump. Replaced pump, problem persisted. Turned out to be corroded and dirty fuse box connectors. cleaned all fuse and relay connections with electric parts cleaner and greased with Di-Electric grease. - 27,000 Miles - Starter Switch failure. Bypassed starter switch - 31,000 Miles - Ignition Switch failure. Bypassed ignition switch - 32,000 Miles - re-directed by a car into center divider. Took out my gauges, headlight, bars, controls, tail section... All stuff I wanted to replace. Unfortunately the Banke shifter, pipes and Race Oval were also damaged. - 32,002 Miles - Snapped the original drive belt doing a burnout in my shop. |
