Problems/Miles (Please be specific): | Used purchase with 6100 miles - I'm in the process of fixing previous owner related problems so I have not experienced any on my own. It came with a SuperTrapp installed plus the Race aircleaner. Only the carb was never worked on so it wouldn't idle nor run without the enricher fully pulled out! It also had the wheels pulled off once - The same mechanic installed the small front bearing spacer backwards. That's why three inched of axle stuck out of the brake side while you could see inside the threads of the nut on the opposite side. That same mechanic wanted more of a sport bike feel so the handlebars were lowered providing about a two inch turn before the handlebars hit the tank. Fortunately the paint is fine in those area. The left rear turn signal was used as a handle at one time by the previous owner. I've replaced it. The front fork fender bracket had 3 of it's 4 button head allen screws completely stripped. I was able to remove them with a small pair of vise-grips and a clamp. I've replaced them with stainless cap screws. I've just replaced the battery. The one that was installed last year actually was seven years old and didn't hold more than a 15 second charge. The only non-previous owner related problem thus far seems to be a valve cover leak on the rear cylinder. I'm going to replace both with James gaskets. |

Why I do/don't ride a Buell: | The quirkiness, I think they're one of the most beautiful bikes ever, and someday people are going to wish they kept theirs since there aren't that many now. I've saved this from becoming a mutant chopper - sort-of an intervention to save an endangered species. |
