Hi all, ive had my 2003 Blast for exactly 2 weeks now and have been to this site more days than not. I'm grateful for the endless resource of info and the quick response to my question..."Blast dies mid-ride." Ive rode in the dirt for about 7 years and this is the first time i've had a street bike. Ill tell ya, I dont know what the heck i was waitin for!!!! I absolutely LOVE my Buell: bald tires, sputtering and all. The body is in decent shape and with a little investing, it'll be a great ride this season. I'll be getting new Pirelli MT75's in two days and this week I'll also replace the air filter with a K&N. Seems thats what everyone suggests for an easy performance mod. Im also contemplating shining and smoothing the wheels before I put the new rubbers on them, they're a little dull and pitted. Anyway, great to be a part of a community with a shared passion. I'll post some pics when I figure out how to make them small enough to upload.

Hi
My name is Danielle & I just started riding for the 1st time. I love it & now I just need to get a bike. I am looking into the blast. I really love Buell. I have been looking at other bikes but when it comes down to it, I need to get somethig made in the US & I just can't get anything but a buell. Right now I spend most of my time on the back of a 1125R. That bike is just so much fun. My husband is on his 3rd Buell, I can't see us ever having any other bike then a Buell. I don't know why I even looked at others.

Hi Danielle, I think the Buell is a perfect choice. Im 5'2" and my Blast fits like a glove. Its a perfect first bike, affordable, and easy enough to work on. I have done alot of aftermarket mods to mine in the past four months and this site has been a goldmine of info. I did spend months looking at other bikes from the Ninjas to a Rebel and I am thankful I chose a Buell. Your husband has good taste!!! Good luck and safe riding!!!!

Danielle:

Actually the more you look around the more I think you will appreciate the Blast.

It's an amazing bike that captures both the ability to make less experienced and smaller riders (my wife is 5'-0") feel at ease while simultaneously providing the braking, handling and characteristics that make it a Buell.

We looked at adding a scooter to our collection but I can't, in good faith, send my wife out on something with less than excellent brakes.

I've been riding Buells for a tad over 22 years and have ridden them in 44 states. I was on the test riding team when the Blast was under development and it's a well thought out motorcycle.

The Blast has it's quirks and you are in the right place to learn about them and handle any concerns. Check out the THUMPER section of Badweb, it's dedicated exclusively to Blast owners.

Glad to have you here.

Hi Court-I actually do have a question, but am not sure where to post it. I was out riding the other day and my Buell left me stranded on the side of the road. Got it home and found 2 definite probs. Dead battery and all four rear motor mount bolts busted off. My Blast is sitting in the garage, waiting for some TLC. The bolts are sticking out of the motor and something killed the battery. Any ideas??

>>>Any ideas??

Absolutely. Immediately call your Buell dealer and report exactly what you have reported here.

They will be able to determine the cause of the problem (sounds unusual and you sure don't want it to happen again) and get it fixed (I'll bet you're eager to get riding).

Your Buell dealer has a tremendous amount of technical support at their command through Buell Technical Services.

While there are myriad tales, some based in fact, of Buell dealers who are less than shiny, my experience has been for the most part that the dealers sincerely want to help and Buell has an excellent reputation for standing behind the product.

If you get a chance it would not hurt to post a description of the problem and photos in the Thumper Section. There are some very sharp cookies and cookettes in their with many miles of Blast-specific experience who may be able to shed some light.

Keep us posted.
