Hi,
I'm new to this board and to Buell ownership - I've been poking around these forums for a while and was going to post a pic of my new ride and say 'hey' - but I don't see any button that says "post new thread" anywhere. Is it me?
Thanks!
Sue in NH

Good morning (at least where I am) This is my first post and my first Buell (Uly, Black..."I am back in Blac...no I wont go there)
Just want to get started. I have been reading posts for awhile when I first thought about leaving my FLSTC. You pushed me over the Buell edge and so far no regrets. The fun is back in the riding. Sorta like going from riding your hay wagon through town to riding full tilt bareback across the prairie.

I'm Spyder from Melbourne FL.. I'm also the local ABATE chapter webmaster.

I drive an 02 X1W with a few nice mods. I sorta "stumbled" onto it when I traded in an SUV. It was on the lot, I test-drove it, fell in love with it, and HAD to get it into the deal.

I ride to work about 19 days out of 20 year round, and everywhere else I can get to on the bike unless I have too much to pack. Been riding dirt then street for about 30 years.

My recent previous bikes (I'm sorta cash-poor and tend to own OLD bikes!) was a Yamaha XT600 single-cyl thumper which was a lot of fun, and after that a Honda CX-650 Turbo which was a real head-trip. That doggone thing looked like a tacky silver-wing, but it had a secret when that 18 lb boost kicked me in the ass. Damn- like 80 to 120 in 2-3 seconds.

I love the X1- perfect to get out of the way of bluehairs when they are about to cut you off down here, great on gas (the CX650 got 18MPG, the X1 close to 50), and its a real head-turner. Even had a few hot chicks ask my ugly ass about it hahaha..

The X1 has been great so far. A few small oil leaks on the head bolts and the timing chain port, and I fried a belt when I over-tightened it. Other than that its been great. Which is good for my small budget.

It was also a good bike to "ease" into the HD crowd. Curiously though, I find HD riders usually say "that ain't no Harley!", and the metrics say "that's a Harley dude", so I feel like I'm on my own. I don't know any local Buell riders, and although I'm in BRAG, there is no local chapter.

Anyhow, if you're in the area say hi! And if you need roadside help in Brevard, the Independence Chapter has roadside assistance numbers on the website.

Ride safe watch out for the cages..
Spyder

It's great to see other

Welcome all to the BadWeB asylum, where passion and enthusiasm for riding Buell's air-cooled sport bikes are warmly welcomed and applauded.

Ignatz,
With your professional education, I hope you'll join in on the various tech discussions. We are always looking for expert advice. : )

Sue,
What Court said. : ) Pages that allow new thread creation will have a link to that effect at the bottom of the tabular listing of thread titles. Some like the Quick Board offer a link atop the page too.

Pesospal,
I like it! "Sorta like going from riding your hay wagon through town to riding full tilt bareback across the prairie." : D Can I use that? : )

Azjimbo,
Check out the search utility and try entering "new owner" (no quotes) in the "Search for" field while selecting the "And" (Match all keywords)" option in the "Keyword options:" field and the "Subject lines" option in the "Look in:" field.

Here's a good page for you...

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/4062/115483.html

Also check out the "New Bueller" topic in the Knowledge Vault and all its archives. : )

Sean,
Congrats on your Buell acquisition. That is a very unique motorcycle. You should feel right at home in the Old School Buell section here. Well, maybe not. joker

"Timing chain"? You meant "primary drive chain" methinks. : )

Pictures of those hotties, please? : )

Thanks for the tip on the assistance line in your area. We have our own extensive "Riders' Assistance Network" or "RAN" here on BadWeB. Once you login, you'll be able to see it on the main topic page right below the "Guest Book" thread title. : ) If you are willing, please do add yourself to the list. You meet the coolest folks on a Buell. : )

Hey; new to the board, been riding an S2T since 96; currently 30k and 0 problems. Been riding since 1971 and owned many brands, I still think the 96 S2T was one of the best all around bikes Buell made. Unfortunately, due to med problems, mine is now for sale. Check it out in the classifieds.

Trying to find an "Original Equipment Owner's Manual" for my 2000 M2 Cyclone, I'll check every so often to see if one is available. Not alot of miles on mine. Bought it 3 years ago with 2066 miles, now just a good spit over 21,000. Later, "One Finger"

I am not a member of this board but as fate would have it, one of our own went down yesterday. William, aka Mountainrider, high-sided when his front tire blew during a ride on 315 near Ocoee, TN. His injuries so far is a fractured T3 vertabrae, concussion to his lungs, and injury to his liver. He is able to move all body parts but is in considerable amount of pain. He is currently at Earlanger North Hospital in Chattanooga, TN, where they are conducting further tests to verify that there is nothing else wrong.

William spoke highly of this board and I thought I would share the news.

Special thanks to Jeremy (Sorry I don't know your screen name) from the Bad Weather Bikers board for staying with Williams wife at the hospital all night and picking up Williams bike this morning. Jeremy you are a true riding brother.

rocky here, i'm building a 2000 buell cyclone into a drag bike. i'm missing quite a few parts, as this is a crash repair. would like to buy used parts, such as rear wheel, brakes, pivots, front lower engine mounts. call if you have parts to sell or complete bike less motor to sell, does not have to be a cyclone but a 1200 evo motor must fit in it.
thanks

Please post your parts wanted ad in the appropriate classifieds topic. You'll have much better luck with it there than here in the guest book. Thanks.

Welcome Chris! : ) The Uly is a fantastic motorcycle. I want one!

So Rocky, do you have a Owner's Manual for your M2? One_finger is looking for one about seven posts up from yours.

One_Finder, you want the manual for itself right? I have a manual, if you just want some info out of it, email me at jacker at midmaine dot com.

Great Site! For a new Buell owner, I don't think there could be a better site.
I registered to join this group but I must start by saying "My problem with Buell -/- Harley Davidson is individual identity."
I would like to go to the Harley Dealership and buy what I need for my Buell and my Ultra Classic.
I would at least like to have a Buell Dealership in my home state! Dela-Where
I would like to have a BRAGG group in my home state.

Welcome Bob! There are some who would like to have a dealer in their own country; others have dealers in their home state/province, but must drive hundreds of miles to get there from home. So please don't feel too bad. : )

Bob:

Welcome aboard and I bear glad tidings. . . the B.R.A.G. and Buell Owners activities cross state and international boundaries easily and without loosing any energy!

Be sure to stay tuned to the Liberty HD/Buell area here on Badweb. These guys are quickly building a history of having Buell events that would warrant trip from Dela-Where.

In addition, there are Buells coming from all over (I'll have some of the foreigners billeted with me for a bit) for the upcoming Buell Homecoming 2006. Which, if you have never been to a Homecoming, would be a perfect one to start with. The Buellers who have been planning it have a track record of tossing "worth traveling" Buell get-togethers. In addition, it's worth traveling to Appleton, WI to see a guy with a pony tail who sells Buells at the rate of XX/week!

I'd alos point you to the thread-a-matic about the upcoming Buell races at Virginiation International World Spectaculicsion Raceway. Frankly, BUELL RACING is quickly becoming the "must see" of the season and besides that event will be in Virginia, close enough to Chauly's home to nearly guarantee he'll be cooking again.

To much Buellin'....not enough time.

WELCOME!
