Hello folkies!

Stumbled across this board while doing research on my latest acquisition, a 95 Buell S2 that I bought at a HD dealer auction for the princely sum of $2500. Little bit of rash, looks like a wheelie gone bad possibly from the ding at the taillight, the bent shifter and the broken taillight, but it runs quite well and only has 3000 miles. It cleaned up nice and I've been riding it a bit.
Now about this board....anytime you can find a resource that has heavy involvement from the folks who were actively involved in Buell since the early days, you have a winner. I can't think of another place where a person could find such a resource and for that I will thank you all right up front!
About me-I live in Wasilla, AK, about 40miles north of Anchorage. I ride a a fair amount of dual sport on the other winged horse-an Aprilia Pegaso. The Pegaso is my winter bike, complete with studded knobbies, which I used to to ride all winter long, even in snow and ice-I'll post some pictures of that over in the tales section if that's OK.
I'm working my way through the archives for all those nuggets of info. So many questions but I'll try to find the answers instead of asking the same questions over and over.....
LAter guys, thanks again.

Chris:

There is all the S2 knowledge you can ever ask for here. Take some time, dig through the KNOWELDGE VAULT under S-2 and don't hesitate to ask.

The S-2 is a very special Buell that has earned it['s place in history and to many of the over 6,000 registered Badweb participants.

By the way, check out the chance to pop $20 for a Badweb Buell calendar. They are just now mailing and there are some S2 pics in there that'll have ya dreaming!

Welcome,
Court Canfield

hello all. just trying to see what info is out there on the lightning. currently going through riding school and if i treat myself the zb12s is what i desire. i live on the cali coast. my commute is a 45 min drive of meduim smooth gentle curves. then a long section of flat open curves and straights. into a tastey section of mixed tight two lane. ending with a short hop down the freeway to work. needless to say the only way to properly do this is on a motorcycle.

Hello everyone. Great site. I have a 2002 X1, yellow, pretty much stock except for a few cosmetics. The knowledge and service from members is going to be helpful. Ride safe.

Since they seem to be talking about me on the KC Mob Storm Front site, thought I'd say hello, formally. I'm an older woman with a modified (very) Blast and a new XB12Scg. Terrific bikes. Love the site

After much deliberation I sold my V-Max and bought a left over 04XB12S with a race kit. It seems to be shreading the stock D207s pretty quickly but I am having a great time with this bike I thought about the new speed tripple but I am glad to get into the Buell. Still learning it's limits. Does anyone know if I can remove the servo motor? I have the factory kit which includes the race ECM but the dealer, "High Country" did not know if it would throw a bad code or not so left it in. What would be a good choice for replacement tires? I am gathering info from the site saying Pilot Roads? Any other opinions? I guess I should sign up on the site.
I have had an endless list of bikes from wings to ninja's and everything in between, but this is my first sort of Harley. I think it is a good value compared to the rest of the line, I mean like I love that Stortz sportster flattracker kit on the new rubber sportster chasis, but it would not touch the XB12 and cost more than twice as much. I have always believed if you want the performance then buy it, hopping up any bike significantly is a slipery slope. Buy a Busa for the same cash if you want 160hp. I didn't however, I love the XB. I only miss the V-Max at stop lights.

Welcome aboard, Ray! Register and hang around, you'll find a lot of knowledge here. Somebody probably even knows the answer to your servo motor question (but not me--I'm a tuber kind of guy)!

Hello all...
Guess I should've started here. Didn't see this section before. I would like to say that this is an awesome site. As for me, I'm an almost fourty single dad of two (10yr son & 12yr daughter) from NE Ohio. Unfortunately my wife of seven years past away about nine years ago due to the lack of care of three Air Force Doctors. I spent ten years in the A.F. Decided to get out after our misfortune. I started on two wheels way back when I was about ten with a homemade minibike my Dad built with me. Been hooked ever since. I've had various cycles, my favorites were my 81' Suzuki GS1100 and now my Buell S2T. Man do I love the Buell... can't get enough of it. Just wish I had more time to ride, maybe when the kids get a little older. I appreciate all the kindness I've expierienced here so far and look forward to sharing and learning in the days to come. Thanks for offering such a wonderful place for people to hang out. Sorry for being so winded as I do not have many friends. I spend most of my time alone doing house work. Man this parenting thing is tough. laughs Thanks for taking the time to read this. Hope to see you all in the wind...

I have owned 81 GS1100, 82 GS1100, and ten years later, another 82 GS1100. It went away to pay for the S1 and hasn't been missed. The FJ1100 might return if I could ever afford 2 bikes....

That's cool Tripper...
I owned mine for four years, one year while living in Dayton, OH. and three while living close to Naples, Italy. Put quite a few miles on it while there. The Itailian coast lines and countryside was most awesome. Understand about being able to afford two bikes. Take care and thanks for replying.

Hang in there easy, it's tough being a single dad but the kids will keep you young (and busy!Oops my dryers buzzing). I'm a single late fortys dad of three boys 18,15 & 9. You'll get a little more free time and help as they get older. You can make good friends here, online & off, I have.

Hellspawn check out the Old School section.

Ray if you have the race ecm you can just remove the servo. The stock ecm however has to be faked into thinking it's still there.

Darrel I had a great time meeting & riding with you in AZ. Great ride. Hope to see you at the next one.

Welcome everyone

Italy, Fumicino, is where I heard my first 888 Ducati. Creamed my jeans. Then passed it a few clicks down the autostrada on the side of the road. Trust Suzuki. Of course they did have the weak cranks they replaced for free many times. No recall!?!

Unibear12r - My hats off to you!

I agree about it being tough, that's for sure. Loved the dryers buzzing comment. Laundry is a never ending battle... ecspecially with my daughter (wears multiple outfits daily). They do keep me young though. Almost 40 and I still own a bmx bike, skateboard, scooter etc. If it wasn't for them I most likely wouldn't have those things. As far as them getting easier as they get older? I don't know, mine seemed to help out more when they were 4 and 5 laughs. They actually liked helping back then. I just took them to the Ohio 250 in Mansfield yesterday. They're first Nascar (Craftsman Truck Series) event. They loved it as did I (went with friends last year). It was a pretty good day.

Tripper - I was riding with a group of American bikers down the Amalfi coast when I experienced my first run in with a Ducati. Don't know what model it was, but it definately stood the hairs on my arms on end. I remember thinking man that's awesome. As for the Suzuki, I sold it before my wife and I came back to the states. We were expecting our first child and needed the funds. Went four years without a bike. I then bought my S2T with funds from a settlement I got from Uncle Sam after the incident involving my wife. Plan on riding it forever... laughs.

Thanks for the welcome the both of you. I look forward to being around as long as funds permit.

I'm looking to get my first bike soon and the Buells really appeal to me. This site has been a great source of info so far.
I'm thinking of getting an XB9S and I have a question if somebody would like to help educate a new guy. The dealers nearby still have some 04 and 03's. Are there any mechanical changes or is it just the looks and tires? I love the look of the CityX, but I figure I can always customize it later.

Hi all,
I am not a new biker but a NEW BUELL owner!!!
I have been riding on 2 wheels off & on for about 30 years. I have had some dry spells where I couldn't afford a bike but when ever I have the funds I always end up with a bike. I traded in my CBR 1000 on my 05 XB9SX. I only have about 150 miles on the bike so far. I need to do a little modifiying before I do too much more riding. I am a OIF vet that was wounded in the right leg. I have nerve damage and can't raise my foot to get at the brake pedal. So I got the dealership to throw in a set of R foot pegs. Since they are straight it puts my foot a little higher and I can cover the brake better. I am looking forward to riding and meeting other Buell riders. I have always had my eye on them just never thought I would own one.
If you haven't figured it out yet I am also into 4wheeling. My web page is www.4x4nut.netjust ignore the pic's of the Honda & the soon to be ex-wife.

Hi from Twin Cities, MN,

I'm new to the Buell experience and I'm enjoying it a lot. I sold my '03 XL1200C last month in order to finance an '05 FXSTB that I ordered that's on it's way this week and I didn't plan on buying anything else in the meantime.

Unfortunately, yeah right, I found a 2002 S3T sitting at my local VW dealer when I went to get my oil changed and I couldn't get it out of my head. I got an '02 Volcano grey/Orange S3T with non-slotted PM wheels with 4300 miles for under $4800, I just couldn't pass it up and my brother has already made dibs on it to build a Redneck Buell. Don't worry, I'm liking this bike too much to tear apart and I've already gotten a good idea on how well this idea would be received around here. This bike is a keeper.

Now I just have to get everything needed for a Stage 1 to enhance the fun. Anybody have a race ECM for cheap??

Tom S.
