All on Ebay - 3 black, 3 red and black. Open auctions with $27k BIN. Alternatively, there's an RS at White's Harley in PA for sale $19k and change.
I'm relatively certain LAP has tried to sell each of these before, but I haven't seen them all listed at once like this. I imagine there's a few more parts and bikes to be placed on the virtual chopping block from East Troy in the near future as part of the ongoing sell off.

I suspect they will get to keep them for a while and think it over . . . more interesting are the serial numbers.

I'm thinking 1313 may jump on 00013.

If LAP is really hoping to get close to 27k out of each of them, I'd agree with that Court. I don't see them going anywhere anytime soon. At this point, I suspect most people who were willing to pay the RS premium have already done so. It just stood out to me since this is the largest number of offerings I've seen from them since last year at this time. Mainly though, it's an oddity to see 6 RS's advertised at once on Ebay.

The black/red combo does look pretty sweet though.

The fact of the matter is . . . they are extraordinary motorcycles.

But . . . at this point . . they are more collector items than motorcycles. Putting any miles on one is effectively going to take the value to about $5,000, if that.

If you can, as a pal has done with his RR1000, keep it to 3 miles on the clock and sit on it for 50 years . . you've got something Interesting. In terms of "investment", you'd do better with a savings account . . . but you will have an amazing piece of engineering artwork.

Don't get me wrong . . . I live in a house decorated with Buell parts and pieces and a 1952 Cushman 711 Highlander in the living room . . . with walls covered with about every type of guitar you can think of . . . I love that stuff.

But . . . I fear the those looking for a "motorcycle" will look at the $19,000 and opt for something they can ride, get parts for, a warranty for and get serviced.

I've grown old and in my sunset years . . . I confess I am far more apt to spend $8,000 on a pristine CL77 Scrambler than "art".

We'll see . . it will be interesting to watch on eBay and I, hopefully, may be all wrong.

The fact that they have not been able to sell them in the past 5 years speaks to the heart of the problem.

I'm thinking 1313 may jump on 00013.

I wish! A 2013 EBR with VIN # 13, with black and red my favorite color combo (OK, carbon and red is a VERY close 2nd...), it would be as close to a 1313 that EBR ever got. (Side note: I tried to get 2014 1190RX VIN 1313, but was told they weren't going to get up that high so I had to settle for VIN 269.)

But...

I seem to recall that someone posted a while back on the EBR Forum that they got 2013 EBR VIN 13 in carbon and red. They promptly put it inside, never to ride it, and also bought an 1190SX (that they 'dolled up' and apparently ride).

Now here's the weird part. Trying to use the search function on the EBR Forum doesn't work as I'd expect it. I can find posts from the person, I can find pictures of the 1190SX, but I can't find the pictures of the 2013 EBR RS in carbon and red. I know that I saw them, because when I saw them it put the kibosh on my hopes of ever having 2013 EBR VIN 13. I would say that the BadWeB search (even with all the complaints made against it...) works a hell of a lot better than the EBR Forum search does!

Honestly, at this point in my life, I can't rationalize spending $27K on a collectible that will just sit.

I must be getting old - or maturing - to have made a statement like that...

I must be getting old too . . . . because . . . I came damn close to putting in a bid . . . and started the "for that same money . . . I can get a 1970 Triumph Bonneville, a CL77, S90 and a Cushman Truckster"

As you age . . your priorities change.

I've passed on the 718 Boxster in favor of an MGA and a 1965 Mustang.

But . . . when we were young . . . we had a great time!

>>>I'm enjoying some of the best years of my life now!

I could not have said it better . . . . I am effectively "retired" but still have 2 full times jobs that allow me to work/not work as suits my schedule.

Just moved to the "dream farm", with the new 2 story barn, and am about a stone's throw from my next project . . a $2B whopper . . . sitting next to 3 great BBQ joints . . that will carry me well into retirement.

Still enjoying the teaching . . . Columbia tomorrow night and I get to fight the weather getting to Harvard for class on Thursday.

And playing lots and lots of music . . . sitting here in the shadow of Woodstock . . . and spending time at Sally Grossman's to hear music. You may not know her name . . but you may remember her picture.

Sally Grossman

Fun neighborhood . . . fun times . . . I wish I'd gotten old sooner.

Haven't been in Bearsville in forty years: Albert never looked that good.. I lived there in the late 60's, early 70's.
