The Webpage that started it all, with Pictures

The idea for this ride was to go from DC to NYC and stay at the hotels, which is what the city really needs, for tourists to come back and spend MONEY.

Here we go:

911_2,Linda & Bikes
Here is Linda with the bikes loaded up and ready to go. BUELL CONTENT: The Buell, oh its at the shop! So I rode my XL1200S, which is almost at 35k after this ride.

911_3,Linda signs placcard
Everybody "autographed" the sign, which we would leave at Ground Zero in NYC.

911_4,Closeup
Closeup of our signatures, and our "sponsors"!

911_5,Assembled Group
Here are the bikes before taking off, as seen from the hill where the object that is causing that shadow is standing, the Washington Monument.

911_6,Volunteers
Some of the Volunteers, without whose help and coordination with all the police officers from four states this ride could not have happened as smoothly as it went.

911_7,View from Mike's
One of the stops was at Mike's Famous HD, a monster Dealership/Restaurant/Museum in Delaware.

911_8,View from Mike's
Another view from Mike's

After stopping form Mikes, we stopped in Jersey for gas (next to a strip bar, go figure) and went into the city for the night.

911_9,Bikes outside the Hotel
Here is everybody lining up at 32nd and Broadway, to go down to ground zero.

911_10,Second bike
Another view of the bikes.

911_11,Senator Campbell
Senator Ben "Nighthorse" Campbell of Colorado went on the ride, and we managed to get our picure taken with him.

911_12,Fire Station
We stopped at one of the fire stations closest to ground zero to pay our respects, and buy some t-shirts.

911_13,WTC
We couldn't get very close, but I managed to get some shots.

911_14,Memorial
Linda and I ended up walking all the way around the WTC site, and saw this "memorial" that friends/family members have created near Battery Park.

911_15,Blg Damage
Some of the damage to one of the adjacent buildings caused by the falling WTC.

911_16,Dust
Everywhere you looked, you could still see remains of the dust from the tower's collapse. They have done an amazing job cleaning, but there is still more to go. You could also still smell the burning debris, which was the same one that I smelled from the Pentagon.

911_17,Sign
Here we are at the sign, after it was placed on the fence by the church next to ground zero.

It was an unbelievable experience, If you have a chance, come see it, we can't forget the people who were lost here, in the Pentagon, and in Sommerset, PA.
