Thanks for the lil shout out. Between Uncle John's work schedule and school, I have been a very busy camper that has kept me off of Badweb other than perusing every once in a while, and I've only put 2000 miles on the other Buell. Such is the life of a youngin.
Great pics, keep them up.

at one point during Sunday's ride i said to D, "It'd be the coolest thing in the world to run into Dino and Char up here."

maybe next time we're heading out i should give you guys a call, eh? major bummer that we missed you. 
so, have you checked the obits to make sure all the hired help at the Ponderosa are still with us???

Alex, good to hear from you, hope you're not working TOO hard!
we couldn't decide whether to get you the John Deere flag that D's holding in the pic, or a cute little JD mobile that you could hang above your bed.

FB - Sorry we missed you. We were up there on our annual 'Pete Brewer Memorial Ride'. Got to Ponderosa too late for french toast, unfortunately. The only pix I took were of the line of bikes in front of the lodge...nothing of note. |

hi Alex, it is indeed the salute you see!
me 'n D met up with a some friends in Kernville yesterday, had lunch at Cheryl's Diner, came back here to the 'Dome and shot the bull for a bit, then i escorted them out of town via the Lion's Trail. had a GREAT time!
left to right: Sunny and Steve Slaughter (it wasn't good enough for Steve to simply flip the bird, he had to spin around and get his arse in the pic, too), new friends Mark and Jackie, and Steve Brefka, saluting with one hand, pointing at my Road King with the other. (think he's trying to tell me something???)
hey, don't forget, get those stickers mailed off to Corso!!!
and you're welcome for the e-mail. tell Matt we're pulling for him.

Well, hell, that goes both ways. Actually, it wasn't 'til about noon that Char came out of the house, as I was trying to catch up on yard work, and suggested we go for a ride. It didn't take too for me to start wondering what the hell I was doing slaving away in the yard when the boss was saying, "go, play." So off we went. Woulda been excellent to hook up with y'all.
Say, is that a 80's Interceptor I see in those pix? I had an '83 750. Great bike! |

That's a 1984 VF500 Interceptor. Sunny's street bike. She has a 1985 model setup for vintage racing and almost another whole bike worth of spares (frame, engine, wheels, misc bits and pieces)
That little V-4 is really cute. Sweet bike and not too bad in its day. It is in almost showroom condition.

it is indeed an 80's Interceptor, '85 i believe, which is Sunny's bike. it's been well-maintained over the years and looks (and sounds) great.
her hubby Steve (goes by Slaughter here on the board) was on his Buell S3 Thunderbolt, Mark and Jackie were on the blue KZ1000 (i have always loved the sound of inline four Kawi's with a growly exhaust system), and Steve B was on his 44,000-mile-and-counting HighlyBusa.
toss in the Road Wing and we had quite the motilla.

Hey Jerry,
Got to ride through your area again last Saturday night Aug. 12th. I had a bowling tournament in Bakersfield on the weekend and figured on bringing the bike along for afterwards fun. Ended up taking 178 up to Kernville for dinner, then looping back on the Bostrom to Granite road into BF. Most excellent roads for myself and my bowling partner on his BMW K1200S. Will have to do that in the future again real soon. |

Granite Road is a gem, but don't tell anyone about it, it's our little local secret, k? you shoulda called. we've been w*rking our monster hours, as usual, but we prolly coulda slipped out for dinner, and maybe a spin up to the top of the Bostrom. give a holler next time you're in the hood!

Wow, I just missed everybody again! Jerry while you were riding the Lion, Kim and I rode up through Kernville to Ponderosa! I'd just got the Uly's new rear end back together after hitting a railroad spike that bent the wheel out of the tire bead. I was up at Alta Sierra today for a toy run and the Bostrom's still a bit of a mess between there and Glennville. Had fun on Granite Rd tho! Btw I have a Fat Cat with your name on it old friend. |

Glenn, great to hear from you again. were you guys up at the Cook Shack at Alta Sierra? we were up there for dinner and beer awhile back and i seem to remember something about an upcoming toy run that was converging on the Shack. (lucky i remember ANYTHING from that night - something about the high altitude and copious amounts of Isabella Blonde...)
thanks again (i think!) for the call when you guys were down on Cannery Row during MotoGP. we sure hated to miss the party this year, but it was cool to share the excitement with you.
very much looking forward to my Fat Cat, my friend! i still steenk like expensive ceegar from the LAST time we burnt a couple together:

It was the Cook Shack and the place was packed! About 200 bikes. My first time there and it's nice to see somebody not trying to push a retirement village or Bed & Breakfast in the mountains around here. I'll be stopping there quite a bit I think. On the other hand we were a bit saddened by the service at the Ponderosa the other day. However at the next stop down towards the west(Wellsville?)they have built up the place a lot and were very biker friendly. Even had people wade out through the Harleys to talk Buell and FX racing! |
