This was taken around 5:30 am, with the sun just coming up. It's amazing how slow you'll ride a Buell in the wee hours of the morning up here. We'd heard moose warnings, but hadn't seen any. That would change once we hit the island.

The ferry at North Sydney... I'm sure that Newfie can elaborate on this a bit more, but this is one of the small ferrys that runs to Newfoundland. I was amazed at the size of it, the picture doesn't do it justice.

All of my stuff packed and ready to go on the ferry.

People were amazed at how little I had packed for as long as the trip was. It took a bit of convincing for them to understand Buellers and the people of Badweb and how much they had helped with the trip.

Ferris,
Doesn't all of that road grime and oil crap tick you off? I did keep the aircleaner polished just for you, bud.

The Buells strapped down below.

Man do they sound good in that enclosed of an area... reminds me of a particular tunnel in Zion.

Bill,
you've got to lose that stock exhaust.

Port-aux-Basques, NL. Notice the bigass rock with the reflectors on it. A novel way to warn ships that this entire place is, indeed, one really bigass ROCK.

The look to the west. Somewhere, many many miles away, are the new friends I've made, and the memories I'll cherish from the trip. I had made it to The Rock.

This is Chris Hull, he was on his way to Newfoundland to bounce around the island for a few weeks on his bagger.

He works as a salesman at a Buell dealership outside of Toronto, and was interesing to hear his perspective on Buells in his area.

We drank a lot of Keith's Ale and Blue Star on the ferry.

From my journal: "First impressions of The Rock- cool weather, clear sea, beautiful land, even more beautiful girls."

More to come...

Ferris,

I also got that look here when I started to clean some of the grime off the M2. I was stopped in mid squirt!!!

As for the Small Boat - It can hold several hundred cars on the upper decks and almost a hundred or so Road Tractors with trailers on the lower decks.

Don't the Buell's with Aftermarket Exhausts sound wonderful going on the boat - WOW

The next few pictures are western Newfoundland. The pictures are worth way more than a thousand words. This place is amazing.

Deer Lake (Deere for me, I'm a farm kid)

Bill and I spent the night in this area, at the Driftwood Inn. It was a cool little place, with a little pub/grill in it. The room was cheap, the food was good and the beer was cold (Black Horse, I believe. Good stuff).

And lots more beautiful Newfie girls.

And we finally met up with the crew.

Bill and I arrived around noon, the party started around 6, with lots of screech and a cookout.

Left to Right: Mike (IAMike), Roger (grndskpr), Don (Oz666), Innes (Mr_Grumpy), Bill (Newfie), Bill Ruffus and Dana.

Oz being, well, Oz.

Notince the Screech label to the left. Wonder if that had something to do with this. He is just a cook, afterall.

And our host. I'm not so sure he was feeling up to par this morning.

We were at Bill's house later in the day, the kids said daddy a bit under the weather.

Damn Screech!

And this was the party... The George Street Festival to celebrate the St. John's Regatta.

Bill seemed to know everyone in the town, so we didn't have much of any trouble finding entertainment or good drinks. I think I was Screeched In at least 10 times.

I know there are other pics from this evening, feel free to post what you'd like.

Drew (Mike's sone) and I definitely had a good time.

Bay Bulls- a quaint little fishing village. The smell of the sea and the scenery made me not want to leave.
