Hi All, Hey Eric the "Early Hummer" is a 1948 (first year) or a 1949 125cc. All the American made "Lightweights" are commonly referred to as "Hummers", But to the Anal this one was actually just called a 125 untill 1953 when they came out with it's bigger brother(slightly), the 165. There were various models all the way to 1966. But by then the Japanese invasion was taking over and they were discontinued. How many thousands of us learned to ride on one of these or at least lusted after one? This 125 looks very original and correct. The only things I can see from this photo that are not are the seat springs and the tires.
A MUCH better looking bike than the DKW that it was designed after. Harley got the right to copy it after WW2 in a war reparations act. Definitely took advantage of the market and produced over 10,000 of them in the first couple years. AH, what dreams were made of for so many young boys and girls back then ;>; ) Tbear

enough of you rubbing the perfect Cali. weather in my snow covered wound. And yes, That Shovelhead looks alot like mine, right down to the '56 tank emblems, just a couple years newer. and the sport looks a lot like my old one. (Not as nice as it looks now)

Eric...I am still suffering from this flu! Today I feel worse than the last three. Figure that out. I am off for four days also and want to wear out that damn D208 ASAP. Plus, my little "next service" light came on at 4850 miles last week (before the my fall into illness). But, I changed the oil before Oktoberfast, so a few more miles won't hurt her. Yes, we need to do the instructions. Let's talk over this weekend.

Hey TBear, how's that hay house of yours holding up?

Sandblast...had a seconding coming of health and was on the bike on Sunday....with my electric vest all fired up. For the first time ever, in the four years I have owned that vest, have I ever plugged it in. Normally just wearing the vest unplugged was all I needed. HOWEVER, it was damn cold here this past weekend. But, with the vest all fired up, it made riding quite pleasant. It was a good investment after all. After being down for two weekends, it was time to get out. As Sparky always has said, "electrify". And he is right. Thanks for thoughts.

Scott
