Hey Alex. The best Buell friendly contacts in this area are:

Topeka HD/Buell: Dave Chall - The Buell Parts Doctor. An M2 driver.

Central HD/Buell (our BRAG sponsor): Frank Knoble The Buell Technical Doctor. Also is our BRAG Vice-Director. (he is in charge of Vice activities) Also drives an M2.

Mid America HD/Buell in Columbia, MO has become Buell friendly. I don't have any contact names there.

All 3 of these dealers will probably be in your route itinerary when you swing through here. Any update on arrival date? KC Central BRAG is waiting to escort you. I am thinking that we could deliver you to Hermann, MO where the SLAB group could pick you up at the Stone(d) Hill Winery. Look into Missouri Routes 100 and 19 on your maps.

Dr. Chall (pictured above) is a Legend in the world of Buell.

If you see him, tell him howdy and to give Susan a hug for Court.

Check out my little contribution to the museum while you are there.

Bourbouse Valley is Southwest of St. Louis on I44. If your riding east on 70, it would be out of your way.

AND not worth the time or trouble....last time I stopped there, I waited, waited, waited....a guy on a fatboy rides up and instantanious service...I politely got on my X-1 and rode away... never to stop there again....

I love that pic. The Buell sign is bigger than the HD sign.

Tripper,
I'll be in Topeka Tuesday, July 27th, if everything goes according to plan.
Thanks for the info, I'll start making a few phone calls this week.

One of our gang mentioned meeting you in Colorodo if his schedule is open that day. I wouldn't expect t big KCMob group that far out, but you will have escort. Plan your bed to be in the vicinity of Lees Summit, MO.

Ain't that right JeffG?

I got these in this week, the picture doesn't do them justice at all, they look awesome. They were made by Silver Brook Custom Embroidery in Minnesota. If you're looking to get custom patches and all made, give them a shout. http://www.silverbrook-mn.com
I got their name from Court, they do all of the Team Elves stuff, as well as a ton of other custom work...

If anyone is interested in one, give me a shout. I'll be selling these at $5, with the money going to the ACS. I also will be sending these out to people who donate to the trip, as well as the Buellers that ride with me along the way.

I've got a Business Etiquette dinner this week at school which is being sponsored by a Management Engineering Society. The dinner is free, and donations for the free dinner will be going to the trip. I've got a pretty cool Powerpoint put together about the trip, and will be speaking at dinner. There's lot of stuff to talk about with the trip, as well as let everyone know why Buells are the greatest bikes in the world. I also have a local watering hole that is donating 5% of what the guys in my Fraternity spend there to the trip. Too cool. Drink a few cold ones and raise money.
Alex

Alex,
I don't see any info. on how we can send checks. Would you prefer to handle them or is the American Cancer Society doing it. It may be a good idea for them to do it and save you a ton of time in opening letters, mailing the patches and dealing with the checks. They can also send out the thank you letters for tax purposes.

Mike,
I had talked with the ACS about handling all of the money associated with this, due to the nature of the trip, it's much easier if I track and receive the donations, and provide them with a list of all donors and the amounts when I send them the final check. A new bank account has been set up to handle the funds, and I have my pop dilligently tracking everything.

I will have a personal Paypal account set up within the next few days as well.

We had a dinner tonight at school to raise money for this trip. It was technically a Business Etiquette dinner, but I was able to speak for about 15 minutes or so about the trip, Buells and a few of the crazy times Matt and I have shared over the past few years. We were able to raise $255 tonight. I was pretty excited.

I was also mock arrested by the MDA this afternoon, picked up in a limo and taken to a local watering hole to post 'bail'. We ended up raising $548 for the MDA, and will likely do a similar event for the ACS ride in the upcoming weeks. So many charitible things to do, so little time...

CJ, thanks for the kind words in your email!

Court,
NY to Flint, MI to visit Kettering/GMI is a haul... (the semester ends in June) I think this will be the big event for the trip: http://www.gettysburgbikeweek.com/. I have a few calls to make, but I guarantee the folks at Battlefield Buell and my buddies back home would love to hear your stories, and I'm pretty sure the DCBRAG guys would be up for that as well. Let me do some digging over the weekend and I'll shoot you an email...

Ferris,
I have a line on a tank, it's in pretty rough shape, from what I've heard... Give me a day or two and I'll get back to you on that. I will have a press release posted by tomorrow afternoon. I just got some really good ideas from the folks at the American Cancer Society.
