nothing worse than having to rush to the emergency room for anything much less a child.

I blew up a F-150 I-6 that way.

Reep I am the youngest of five (4 boys). I am glad he is going to be okay

one was the son running through the woods and landing on a stump with a stub poking out, it made a nice little scar. that and when we were over a friends house and we took our eyes off of him for 5 seconds, he put his hands on a space heater. thank god that aloe grows easy down in florida. i'm the middle of 5 m2 and i just caught the crap on both sides.

Damn Reep, Hope the younguns doin better by now.
Some Buell riders from around the area and LaFayette Jenna from Florida will be meeting up at Halls on the River a famous Kentucky eatery and watering hole this Saturday for Lunch. Should be some real characters there.Halls is a few miles south of Winchester just off I-64 0r I-75.Cindy and Myself will be riding in for it and if anyone would like to join please come on in.
We have a couple of extra rooms if anyone would like to come in Friday night or stay Saturday. We live about 90 miles southeast of Lexington and will be riding through some nice country and curvey roads going to and from.

I wanted to, but we will be in the wrong state on Saturday.

Ben's doing great. The cast is waterproof, but he having mixed luck keeping sand out of it.

BTW, I think Bug's Kawi may have a recall, I saw something in Cycle World. The front brake line rubs on a fender or part of the front suspension and can get cut through. Easy dealer fix, they just put on a new brake line bracket.

Reep,

Glad to hear your son's doing well. I stopped by the thread last night when I saw Ed's name posted. Sorry I missed the excitement with your son. My first broken bones happened at summer camp when I fell out of a tree and down a river bank. That's about the time I started riding motorcycles. For some reason I always felt safer on bike than in a tree after that. ; )

Twig,

Hey thanks for joining us! Dad and I were on our 10th consecutive annual trip to Franklin in '02. I've been down a few times over the holiday since but haven't in the last coupla years. Court sparked this deal but I think it's annual tradition worthy of revival. I'll be there next year and you're welcome to join us again.

Ed,

: )

Jb2 - last weekend we went to GA to adopt an Old English Sheepdog from a rescue. I told Baylee we were going to stay at a hotel and had to pack. Her first question was "Are we going to stay at the Franklin Motel?" She's ready to go back as well! We plan to be there again next Memorial Day Weekend!

Thanks so much.
I hardly deserve so much credit, it's the very least I could have done.
Y'all got it right, and making it into an annual event is a wonderful idea.
I'll not miss it if at all possible.
Cool threads and disc but even a better letter.
I too was touched by the letter.
Thanks again!

Jb2 - you really outdid yourself. The shirt brings together two of the greatest things that's I've seen come about because of BadWeB. The letter was absolutely touching and I can't wait to watch the DVDs. Our Memorial Day Weekends will be spent in Franklin NC each year with a great group of friends.

Glitch - I hope you and Ann will come and join us next year. It will become as much of you as Buelltoberfest and March Badness.

Thanks again for being a part of our lives and for inviting us to such a special weekend that we'll never forget.

Jim:

Thank you.

It was an amazing event that affirmed much I hold dear about motorcycling, life and people.

The Legend of Big Jim has made so many of our lives fuller.

Glitch,

Sorry about the short, motel-in-Knoxville reply this morning but your artwork graced the both Matt's and Dad's decals. I tried to pay Kristi for them but she wouldn't hear of it. I know you did the work and someone floated the cost. Thanks for doing what you do for the BadWeB community. Hope to see you there next year.

Ed,

You showing up at Ferris's was the icing on the cake for many of us. Hopefully you and Bug will join us in Franklin next year.

Kristi,

Glad you brought Carlos and family to our shindig and hope y'all come again next year! Thanks for all you do!

Court,

'Twas the ultimate surprise to find you in the parking lot of the Franklin even though I kinda had figgered you out. Oh keeper of memories would you be so kind as to send me a disc of your pics? Mikey wants a copy of the one you took of him and Butcher and I.

Kim and I are at the Breedlove's in Franklin as I write. It's neat to stand in the Harley den and relive the memories. Thanks all. Kristi we didn't stay at the Franklin but we'll be driving by it a coupla times ; )

jb, got the package yesterday and i would like to thank you for allowing me and diane to be a part of the memorial run for your father and also honor matt ware. i just wish i had a better idea as to what was gonna happen for the weekend for then i wouldn't have wasted the time on the weekend before at myrtle beach. it kind of hard to get out for a weekend if we can't bring the dog along and putting her up in the kennel. i won't make that mistake again next year.

and once again, kristi, thank you for letting me know what was going on so i was able to be a part of this. im glad to personally know anyone who's willing to do something at a drop of a hat just to help someone else's life be better.

also, nice job glitch. it's good to know people like you too.

p.s. i don't know if anyone else is having problems with the "a ride with big jim" disc but nothing is coming through on my computer. the other disc is fine. thanks again jb.

Nevrenuf,

Hey, the "Ride with Big Jim" is an audio CD. I shoulda said something but most of the folks there already had a copy. I sent six of the audios out to people who hadn't been there before. Just pop it in the CD player next time you're working on the Buell. It explains itself.

Glad you and Diane made it. Hope to see you next year!

Jim, I have been paid more than money could offer. Money spends on the temporary. Knowing I've helped in a small way is priceless, as well as lasting. It's my pleasure.

me 'n D busted humps this weekend, and earned a day off today.

yesterday's weather fever broke last night, thankfully taking the humidity with it, and this morning dawned crisp, cool and clear.

yep. time to ride.

we're just back from 250 miles of some of the best of the Blue Ridge, in honor of Big Jim, JB2, everyone who was involved in Big Jim's Ride/Run to the RidgeDome, AND in honor of our friends Jim and Shel Corso up in the wilds of northwest Oregon.

before i go any further: most of you prolly don't know that JB2 is a large part of why me 'n D now live on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

it's a story for another time, but long, long ago and a land far, far away (late last century and Washington State, respectively), yours truly mentioned via Sportbike USA an interest in the Parkway, and a friendly feller by the name of Jim Bantz sent me a personal invite and an offer of a guided tour if i ever made it out here.

well, not long afterwards me and Fireman Jim schlepped our Buells across this great land and took JB2 up on his offer, not only meeting the Hoosierbilly for the first time, but Big Jim and Henrik, as well.

there's a lot more to this story, and a lot of stuff has happened in the intervening years, but it's no stretch to say that JB2's infectious enthusiasm for this part of the world gets much of the credit for the fact that the Parkway is now a mere 300 feet from our front door.

a passion for Buells also brought Jim Corso and his wife Shel into our lives. it's another long story, with many twisted twists and turns, and if you buy the first pitcher of dark the next time we meet, i promise to tell ya the unabridged version.

until then, know that Jim and Shel are great folks and dear friends, still Buell crazy, and, well, just plain crazy.

crazy, among other things, about sending us aliens in the mail!!!

are y'all familiar with the pic i took of Alex Prior and Matt Ware on Matt's front porch in Michigan several years ago? in the photo, Matt and Alex are holding up guitar picks with alien faces on them, courtesy of Jim and Shel.

i brought the picks with me on that trip, and took many docu-shots of the Alien Twins as i rode around the country, as a way of taking Jim and Shel along on my journey.

well, a couple of days ago yet another horde of aliens showed up in my mailbox, and one of the little bastiches (cleverly disguised as a "Roswell" Bad Taste Bear) joined us on our ride today, getting his pic taken in a myriad of cool Blue Ridge venues, in part to say thanks to Jim and Shel for making us giggle, and in part to take them along with us.

which, via the following pix, we hope to do for the rest of you, too.

JB2 and Bhuff: thx for such a righteous care package commemorating the passion, adventure and camaraderie from Big Jim's Ride and the Run to the RidgeDome. Denise and i were honored to be a small part of such a grand weekend, and we appreciate the touching letter, awesome and unique t-shirts, and the DVD, and we also appreciate having spent our time that weekend with such an outstanding group of folks.

thank you all for enriching our lives.

ride to lean,
FB&D :-):-)
