Several years ago, I donated a kidney to my son, this past summer i gave myself a celebration ride, from maine , across canada, to the pacific, down into washington, back to maine thru the northern states. I averaged 500 miles a day, this was my first trip across the continent, and I had planned it pretty well, as I have been riding for 38 years. Atrip like this tests a person on every level, Incredible is not the term to describe a trip like that, the canadian rockies cannot be described, as any long distance rider will tell you. My trip was on an 05 hd electra-glide, there were sooo many dirt roads I wanted to ride on, but a loaded bagger just doesn't cut it. I have been on hd baggers for 26 years. I have gone thru 3 outer primaries, and 4 floor boards on dirt roads. I just sold my 05 last week, and am having the local dealer working on a price on an 06 Uly, and an 08 Uly. I can't wait for this years trip to Alaska, which will be in late July thru late August. My son is doing awsome with his new kidney, and after last years trip, there is no way that I can go thru life without these adventures, this stretching of my limits, now that my son is now out of danger of dieing, I just can't get enough of life itself, and I plan on living it to the fullest as long as I can . If any one else is planning on riding to Alaska this summer, maybe we could meet and ride a few days together, or at least stop in for a coffee some where along the way. There will be nothing preventing me from hitting the old rr beds and dirt roads this year, BRING EM ON!!!!Dennis

Congratulations to you and your son Dennis. Great story, actually great synopsis - way to short to be a story!
Tell us more details and post more pictures.

Recieved my prices today,,looks like it is the 08, add ons, drummer exhaust, ecm work, k&n air filter, heli bars, gps, tour tank for the long haul, and a few others, sure it is costing me, but, this years trip will be as awsome as last years, there is no doubt. here are a few more pics, when I figure out how to down size my original pics, I will put out better ones for you. Dennis
