Every year for the last 25 years, all the local bikers get together and have this "toy run". Every one involved donates a toy ...or cash... to the Salvation Army which distributes them at Xmas time for the needy and less fortunate. It(the skies) was pissing like a drunk who had his way with a keg of beer, and still there were over a hundred bikes there.

Most of the bikes were Harleys but there were some sport bikes as well as my M2.

The M2 looks like a 350 Honda beside alla the cruisers and dressers. One fella hadda Buell baseball cap on that he bought at a Harley dealer somewhere. When he seen my bike(only Buell there) he came up and gaver a good look over cause he'd never seen one before. I told him what I could about the bike and Buell...so he gives me the freakin hat....nice guy.

So after riding around town for about an hour, they(RCMP and club members) stopped traffic for us, the lead bike(Stan Mckay) was in a freakin Santa suit, we end up at the Northern Motor Inn(where my band plays quite often) and the owner,Gail Munson, puts on a spread for everyone. Free beers and burgers. Then there is an auction for all the donated stuff and all the coin goes into the same pail. The highest bid was $880 collected from almost everyone to cut Karls hair, goatee, and moustache off right there in the bar. He went from hippie biker to skinhead Nazi in about 5 minutes. Im not sure of the total but Im thinkin about 7 grand was raised in all along with atleast two pickup loads of toys. I had a gas and met alot of cool people. I been out of the bike scene for the last 25 years and it felt good to be in a group of good hearted people who share the same interest...
