I won't be able to post any pics till I get home in a week but it will be worth the wait. The riding oportunities nearby are fantastic. The scenery is breathtaking and not a straight road in sight!
Every time I ride this bike I learn more about it. For example; My wife and I made the short 200 mile ride here from Hermiston Oregon with all 3 bags loaded pretty heavy. A mental calc estimate of just shy of 500 lbs including cargo, live bodies and bike fluids had me adjusting the rear preload as we rode until I had it dialed in to a match with the front suspension. The result surprised me. The bike rides perfectly like that. Turn in was not effected and neither was recovery. I could feel the weight but handling was not affected! Obviously the elves got the location of these bags in the right place. The front end felt light but at no time did it leave the ground. Odd. Another interesting thing is that with the bike loaded that way I could flat foot it very well. Both front and rear were squatted down a tad and it felt great!
Well she is unladen now and this adventure is just beginning. I'll post highlights of day 2 tomarrow morning.

Took an early morning wake up ride this morning after wasting yesterday in the swimming pool. Turned off on a little forest service dirt road and got a pic of the Buell with a big lake and a glacier in the backround. This area is fantastic!

That last post was about an early ride. Before breakfast actually. It was west on 2, turned right at Cole's Corner and back through Plain to Leavenworth. Only 50 miles and I can't remember where that dirt road was. Seems like a sign said Glacier View.
Later that afternoon the Navigator and I rode out Icicle canyon. I mean all the way out, past all the trailheads till there was nothing even remotely resembling a road. There were no other bikes up there. Icicle Gorge was beautiful and I hope the pics come out. The Ulysses is an amazing machine. The Navigator commented later over a couple of ales and some wurst that she JUST realized what we had done and where we went. She said that there is no way in hell we could have done that on any of our other bikes and neither could any of our riding partners. During the ride, she said that that thought never crossed her mind! The bike was perfectly centered in it's element - Adventure!
I have seen no other Buells around since our arrival. I like that. There are about a hundred in town at any given time, however.
We got some company last evening. Guests from home arrived and will be here for the duration. They were all up late drinkin an tellin lies so nobody is up yet. Gotta go plan a ride for today. More pics, more pics.
I'm having more fun than a hound dog in a basketfull of kittens!
