You have to understand - only in the last few years of my life have I even tried to work on being a more social person - most of my life I've only had or wanted a few friends and little did I know that riding would change this. Now thanks to my humble little bike I've got to meet and learn from all of you here on the Bad Web. In return for being such good folk I thought you'd like this small tale of Blasting in bad weather - lol.

I pull into Chico - curtesy of Greyhound - in the very early morning, the sun has yet to rise. Its cold and foggy - 'Ahh - just like home.' I mutter. I start walking to the nearest local store that I see a few blocks away. Time to get a map and find Hall's HD. Other side of town says the map, so its feet do your stuff and start walking, besides I have a lot of time to kill before 8am. So after a half dozen cups of coffee(I live on the stuff) and a couple of bagels I show up at Hall's HD - see the Dealer's section for this part of tale. I pick up my bike with clouds everywhere and a light drizle - time to head towards sis's place. Of course the great detail and cleaning job don by Halls slowly goes to hell under the barrage of wet road grime. A big smile is on my face though because I'm used to this weather and have cleaning my bike down to an art because of it, so I'm just enjoying the ride, practicing throttle control(she's really quite the ripper now)and keeping my speed rain safe. I spot the turn off for sis's and pass it. Its early still and since its been awhile - I figure a little tatical practice on my turns is in order. There is this nice little run to Igo Ono(a very small town burried in the hills just west of Redding)about 35 miles one way thats just full of twists and a few hair pins, and beautifull scenery - I plan on running it both ways as a riding refresher technical course - so off I go(the start for this marvoulous road is only a couple of blocks away from my sisters). Its a wet ride the whole way back and forth but I could'nt care less - the bike never felt better. Now remember - this is a very rural road, so I was expecting to get wet and muddy and did'nt really pay attention to the dirt I was collecting. Finally after about three hours of riding I end at my sisters a big smile on my face. My familly comes out to meet and greet so I thought - however that wasn't the case. Everyone's pointing and laughing and My bro - Gordon looks at me smiles and says follow him into the garage. So I follow and when he opens the door the full length mirror on its inside tells me the story - I'm covered from the neck down in red mud from that little rural ride. I guess this proves I'm a bad weather biker - lol - After hosing myself and the bike off - nether of us the worse for wear - I join my family. Just Blasting on the Darkside! EZ
