Good luck Dave. I know that you Downeasters are a hearty bunch but the riding will be even better when it warms up for those two days in July. All kidding aside, you live in one of the most beautiful places on earth and I'm sure the riding will be spectacular!

Good for you Dave!

Be careful out there. I bought my M2 from a guy who live out by Bass Harbor last year. I road it home (about 23 miles) on a cold day in January. First time I'd been on the bike and first time on the road on a bike in about 10 years. It was wonderful!!

Got my wheels back today with new Metzler Z6's mounted, I'm think I'll finish up the work in a few days and may get to go for a ride next week if the weather holds.

awesome jack! what is up with this *&$%# snow? rain should wash it away by tomorrow thank god...
i'd like if you could take mine for a test drive and tell me what you think could be better. i dont have any experience to compare it to. I notice when i wind it out (like in 2nd or 3rd gear) that i get to a point where it bogs, kinda like there is a govenor on it, is that normal?

Guy with a new bike, you go get a permit and can finally ride it, and the snow comes back. And you want to know what caused it?

It's too wet to plow it, I'm going to wait it out and see if it will melt instead. We had a chimney fire Wednesday morning and can't use our woodburning stove any more this winter because it damaged the chimney liner. I think the gods of fire and warmth are going to punish me with a few more blizzards. So now the fuel bill will go up.

I'm not an expert of any ilk and have never seen a Blast up close but we can look at it.

Does that have a tach? I'm wondering if maybe you're hitting the rev limiter. That is 5,800 RPM on a stock M2 if I remember right, might be the same on a Blast. If you don't have a tach and it does not happen until you exceed the upshift speeds recommended in your manual, there is a good chance it is the rev limiter.

A too rich condition at full throttle/higher speed could also cause a similar. A look at the plug may give you a clue, it should be a light brown to tan color.

If the Blast has similar seals on the intake manifold, at 5 years, you are way over due on replacing those time/heat hardened seals. The air leaks there will usually cause rough running at lower speeds but could also be leaning it out a little at higher speeds.

I read the Knowledge Vault after I got mine and said, "Hey! That's the problem I have!". I picked up a set of intake manifold seals, a #48 slow speed jet, made the simple mod to access the slow speed jet screw, cleaned u the carb a little and with an hour's work a miracle happened. It actually changed my mind about owning the bike, I was already thinking of getting rid of it.

Do you have a service manual? If not, you sound like a guy that needs one. A SM and the BadWeb KV will let you find and and correct every problem on any Buell and do all the regular things the right way or a better way if it exists.

Thanks for the correction Bluz, I knew I should have looked that up.

My rev limiter is still a virgin, since the bike been in my hands any way. I love the 2,500 to 4,500 range, may have approached 5,500 but that's about it for me.
