Just thought I would load up a few pics of my first ride with my new XB12S. This was on a nice ride to Bernkastel Germany. I am lucky enough to be stationed over here and am surrounded by some of the most fun roads I have ever seen. I have a great daily commute that the XB was made for.

I haven't been outside the fence of the Frankfurt airport, unfortunately. Looking at your pix sure makes me want to do some wandering in Europe. More, pretty please!

Yes, great pics, would love to do a "fly ride" thru Europe. I've had the fortune of having driven throughout most of Europe on numerous occasions, and yes, if you get the Autobahn at the right time (no traffic, with the fall of the Eastern Bloc, Germany has become very crowded on the motorways) it is magnificent, BTW, keep right or the big MB's & BMW will run your over. I've been cruising there between 110-120 MPH, yes MPH, and have had guys blow right by me, so you better have your head on a swivel!

I'll be back in Germany in August for a family reunion.

Send more pics

Thanks Court I could not figure out how to get those pics to line up like that. Cali rider I too have been dusted by speed demon Benzs and Bmws and Ferraris and just about any other exotic sports car you can think of. I just got rid of my FZR600 that would run about 145 topped out and I would still get toasted like I was standing still. I don't even try with my lightning It just is so much more fun to carve up some twisties.

Where are you stationed? I grew up not far from Bernkastel...about 15 minutes from Zell in a tiny village called Mastershausen. We used to go to Bernkastel every year for the great fireworks. There are some fantastic bike roads all throughout the Rhein/Mosel river areas. My dad used to cruise through the area on his HD Superglide with me on the back. I'd love to relive those rides on my XB!

Go to Traben-Trabach, go up the mountain side, and you'll be in Schwarzenborn (right beside Spangdahlem AFB.) Head north through Kylburg & Densborn until the road stops -- Gerolstein city limits. Turn left and you're on your way to Prum -- Home of HillBilly Motors. Right there along the Kyl river you'll pass a little place called Zendscheid which is my second home.

Great pic of the Portra Nigra and the church in stadtmitte Trier. Lot's of very fond memories -- Thanks!

I am stationed at Spangdahlem AB, Bigdaddy I have been on that route that you describe and I have been through Prum but I did not know that HillBilly Motors was located out there I need to stop in and check them out. I am just enjoying the increadible history of the area and love the roads, and yes Oddbawl there are lots of Fraus and they love to party but since I am a happily married guy I have to hear about all the fun from the single guys stationed here.

Jajarm, You're in the heart of it. Next time you're out that way, between Kylburg and Densborn, look for Usch. It's right past Zendscheid as you're headed towards Densborn. Usch hill is something else and a wonderful, albeit short, ride to the top. There's an abandoned US site up on top -- spent a lot of 'quality-time' up there laboring away. HillBilly isn't located in Prum proper, but very close. Ping Jens and get the exact location or I can send you specifics if need be. Later,

Greg
