BMC - If you are listening you have a great opportunity developing in Orlando. Orlando Buell appears to be done, becoming only a "Blast" outlet. I was told yesterday there would be no new twins at all and parts/accessories only by special order. The situation at Daytona H-D isn't much better.

We are blessed to have a few excellent bike shops here - but they don't sell H-D. I say - so what! What these guys/gals DO have is a working knowledge of sportbikes and the people who ride them! They are able to earn a nice living catering to the "streetfighters" wants and needs. I already have to shop with them for many of the things I buy, because I'm tired of the blank stare I often get in the H-D shops, and the second-class citizen treatment. Sorry, I don't need a chrome sissy bar. Conversely, it sure is nice to find 17" tires in stock everywhere else. Not to mention how often I hear "Wow - you ride a Buell? Nice bike!"

Mr. Buell, I know selling your bikes alongside imported ones would be seen as heresy to many in Milwaukee. But, you have never (that I have seen) taken the easy route before. The bikes themselves fly in the face of all convention. Why not take the next step? I can't help but believe that if you put Buells in front of the people who are more likely to want one (the sportbike rider already in the showroom filled with sportbikes, not the H-D cruiser customer who passes them by), staffed by knowledgeable people, your sales would increase. Come to Orlando and try to purchase something as ordinary as a set of replacement grips. I'll bet I can guess where you'll end up finding them!

Make our town a test market. I'm sure you could find a dealer ready to try. We have dealers selling MV Agustas and Cagivas! Compared to them, Buell would probably be a high volume product!

Sorry to ramble on so long, but I really believe this to be true. Please consider it.

Why not issue the M2 with the same flexible directionals as the X1 and S3T? The solid ones that come on the M2 break as soon as any preasure is put on them.

I agree. Allow metric shops to market Buells. They already have a captive sportbike crowd. My Harley/Buell dealer hates to sell Buells. Only one person in the shop is even interested in talking about them. I hate going in and feeling second class only because I'm not interested in Harleys. I prefer to visit the Japanese dealers anyday. Buell riders I know have more in common with sportbike riders than Harley cruisers. You are marketing Buells in the wrong location.

Gotta third that. Our dealer could give a shi.t less for us after he gets our $. And the H.O.G.-crusier crowd dosen't have a clue as to why we exist. I was talkin' to a group of 'em and said how this was my first 'Harley'. They said I still didn't have one. snicker.
I think the Buell marque would do a LOT better in a real sportbike environment. The Buell bikes are fuc.kin' bitchin' when you can do a side-by-side comparison to the comp. Plus they would be SEEN!
Anyway, my dealer is Desperation H-D, in Tacoma, WA. My bike is a '00S3. My drink is...oh thats a different thred

Well, I agree, a Buell is NO Harley. Be proud of that I say. Especially after the way HDMC treated our friend Chop on his eBay auction. Made me sick.
