Alright..it is raining like mad in Las Vegas this week, so being stuck at in the house I am tinkering with some projects. I am building a variation of this:

Schematic:

http://www.royalrife.com/EMEM3D.pdf

to power a tesla coil. Now here is the question:
Because I really enjoy vintage electronics, I am replacing the solid state parts with tubes. I have the rectifier worked out, but does anyone have an idea what would work as a replacement for the 2N6059 transistors?? I have tried about everywhere that I know, and no one has an answer. For those of you familliar with tubes, I am thinking of a 12AY7....anybody??

99: The diagram is for a quack medical device that uses high frequency electricity to cure certain "ailments". Now, the output of that connected with certain other pieces becomes somewhat of a lightning generator. Some guys, who have the money have built them 10 ft tall or better than can produce real lightning bolts in excess of 10 ft long!
You can see one in action here:

No it has a solid copper Thermaltake adjustable RPM fan, it ranges from 2500to 5800 RPM
It really helps with the overclocked CPU.
I just got some more memory on order for her.

Jarhead...about a 3 foot one I hope. Nothing "too big" right now. I don't have the space t run a giant one like I would want to build. That is why I am going with something a little more portable right now. Have you built one too?

It' aight Charlie.. I felt about the same way when I saw the thing! I can make a lightning bolt...but would get lost not too far beyond turning on the lights on Spideys computer!

I had the plans for a pair of pretty efficient 18"ers, but never gathered all the components. Give me a day or so and I'll find the plans and share.

Vegas,
You might want to look up Hutchison's Effect. It seems a Canadian fellow by the name John Hutchison has used a Tesla Coil and some Van Da Graff generaters(sp?) with some interesting results. For those who are curious he apparently has had tables levitate and put a steel rod through a 2x4 without harming the 2x4.
