Looks like if you have any outstanding orders with these guys you're SOL. Too bad too...I got really good service when I bought my first set of Pirellis through them.

That explains why I couldn't get to their website the other day.

I really was wondering about their tire prices. I work at a large dealer and DMTA's advertised prices were within a few dollars of our dealer cost. I never understood how they could do it.

I guess they couldn't.

I seen a post on another message board about it.It seems an old partner came in and cleared the building out over a weekend. They had it on their website for awhile.

Nope, it was the lien holder. Someone wasn't paying their bills it seems.

I'd been following this on Sporttwin. In January DMTA claimed they were robbed by a former partner. When you went to their sight the said they were temporarily down due to a warehouse change. Looks like the reality is that they weren't paying their bills and the collection man cameth and taketh away!

Let this be a lesson to those who think undercutting everyone is a good business model!

You're kidding right. Wal-Mart is going to sell motorcycle tires. Yahoo.

As a local DMTA customer, I was damn happy to have a place that sold good tires cheap, installed them for $16, and stocked a crapload of brands. Back to the rice rocket shops I guess. : (

I was very impressed with their prices. Saved me about $100 per tire when I got my new set of Metzlers. Too bad...

I got my Scorpions there a couple of months ago.
$208 to my door (front & rear), fast service, etc.
At the time most of our Buell dealerships didn't even stock the Scorpions (even though they sold CityX's).

I'll miss them.

I bought EVERY single piece of gear through them ... all my friends bought tires through them. I didn't even have to haggle on prices when I went to the store...the price they would quote me would destroy the competition. And they were nice!

Tis a shame but doesn't bother me as I believe in supporting my local dealers.

I don't spend that much more but I do have the satisfaction of building a relationship that will benefit me when I need their help the most.

Locally tire prices can be devestating if you walk into a store. I am talking $20-$30 HIGHER then internet AFTER shipping. Even Metro which is owned by the same group that does AZmotorsports.com is generally $20-$30 higher then whats shipped from their online dealer.

And that's if you shop around... My local Honda dealer wanted OVER $200 per tire for Metz M1's...
