Hi, I've been reading Badweb for a couple months and am looking into getting a xb in the next couple months. This is a great site and have liked what I have read about these bikes.

I live in Van Nuys and would like to know how the dealers are around here. I stopped by the one in Glendale today and talked to Ernie. He seemed like a real nice guy and rides a Buell. Also I thought they had a nice Buell section compared to what I have heard of other dealers. I am also going to check out Simi Valley and Bartel's. Has anybody had experience with any of these places?

My main question is what can I expect to pay OTD for a Buell? At Glendale it was pretty much sticker, plus 2k for freight/setup (500-600), tax, title, etc. Not a rip off but not a free ticket to WI and tour of the factory either.

I tried to do a search for dealers but didn't come up with much for socal. Sorry if this has been posted before.

Uh, GLENDALE FOR SURE.

Ernie is a good cat. I send EVERYONE to him. Glendale has been doing well with Buells and have been around since the dark ages of the HD thing.

Simi? Owned by the same guys who own Ventura - and don't get me started on my experiences there. Bartel's has a name - but frankly, the only guy there who cares AT ALL about Buells is Erich Martin.

Stick with Glendale. Tell Ernie I said Hi.

Bought my XB12 from Ernie... Great guy and always calls you by name every time you come into the place.

Glendale for sure! They know Buells and don't consider them the red-headed step children of H-D. Ernie is the BEST! It's a rare motorcycle salesman that truly cares about his (or her) customers and makes sure you get the right bike for your style and type of riding. I actually over heard him talk a new-to-bikes guy OUT of buying an XB9R and got him data on the local MSF training. Told him to get some riding experience on smaller bikes, then come back and they would work on a Buell deal! You can tell him AL says HI!, too. The BRAG group out of Glendale H-D have regular meetings and rides - if you are into that. (I would be, if my Buell was operational!) ~ AL

I bought my XB9R at Glendale.

Good people.

Ernie is a good dude. We have ridden together on several occasions, and one ride we shredded is still one of the funnest I've had yet. If he reads this he will know exactly what I'm talking about.

I know price is important, but Glendale is more than just the purchase price. You will have the opportunity to get to know and ride with some great Buellers who are very into their bikes and riding, at many different levels.
