Which one do I like better, like Cowboy said, they each have a purpose.

The Vrod is the new toy so I'm spending most of my time on that.

But I have learned to only ride it in decent weather so I don't have to clean it all the time. That anodized look is stunning to look at, but requires TLC.

The S3 I can ride in the snow/rain/whatever and I don't really care. So the S3 is more practical that way, but the VROD is definetly more practical in terms of seat height, passenger confort (with accessory seat and backrest) and as a general all around bike.

Cowboy hit on something when he talked about his XB12: With the Vrod the you can be much more aggressive with the throttle and the brakes because you don't have to worry about wheelies or stoppies on that bike. I have to be more careful with the the throttle/brakes on the S3 to avoid them.

Now some people's whole reason for riding is wheelies and stoppies, and the XB's are unbeatable for that type of riding.

JQ, Any word on retro-fitting the 5 gallon tank -- my biggest complaint about the VRSCB. An extra 1.3 could convince me to keep this thing, well, maybe, okay, probably not, but I'd still like the extra gas. :-)

Not without some cutting, welding and fabrication.

Somebody will try it for sure.

I stopped in at a local dealership last night, one of the people there believes the first shipments of the new Rod are all destined for Europe. He wasn't sure when they'd be receiving any locally.

As always, YIMV (Your Info May Vary).
Wouldn't hurt to check around and confirm the story. Head down to Hal's and see what they have coming in if you have the time, would make for an interesting comparison.

Which "this" bike is anon referring to, the VR-S or a newer model or a different model or the Outrider Avitar model? Could be he saw the 1250cc big bore kit for the V-Rods in use. Or could be he saw the Dyna-Buell spoken of last Fall.
Regardless of what he saw, it is going to be an interesting Spring and Summer.

From what I have been told on retro-fitment is.........not likely. The frame has been re-designed for the larger fuel tank, the position of the rear shocks is more vertical than others too.

Yes...All of the above with the exception of my avatar.

I have the feeling that if I want it desperately enough, I am going to have to have some local builder make it for me. Hey, wonder if Jesse James or OCC would do it. Yeah, like I can afford that. LMAO

Is annoy talking about a VROD or Buell? 1300cc. If it's a Buell I wonder what numbers it puts down. If it's in the XB frame then there's no worries about handling. Could it be a 4 valve motor? Dying to know here.

Like most rumors there tends to be an ounce of truth and a pound of speculation, Anonynism factors can multiply or divide this ratio. Look to the past, pick your likes and dislikes, and paint your own speculatory picture of the future.
Time will tell, until then we wait.

Just read on the V-Rod Forum that a big bore kit is in the works for the Revo Engine. I think this pretty much coincides with the recent Anonymous Post.

New thread "over there":
http://www.v-rodforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15017

Reading through the .pdf upload I may just have to take a closer look in person once they are available locally. The race is on: Buell vs. Harley vs. Other.

Gonna be an interesting Spring and Summer.

And just for the record, there are many anony's here. Some are absolutely credible, no doubt. Some are of unknown credibility. We try not to 'out' them. If we think they are full of it but they are not, we could cost them their job.

Others are clearly without credibilty, we 'out' them in the interest of protecting the anon post feature.

Not saying anything about 'this' anon, just educating people about the problem domain.

So who knows.

The Screamin Eagle VRod is overbore from the factory. Chances are, it'll be available from Parts.

The rumor is that the V-Rod line will expand to include touring versions as well.

The big bore kit is already available.

I like this concept, well I guess it is past that stage now. Anyway watching the videos makes me think that this bike would be a blast to reide. It may not look as good as a regular V-Rod but who cares. I bet it is way more fun to ride. If I had more money I would buy one.

If I had the knowledge and resources to make my own plastic/fiberglass body components, I would consider one as well.
