The company has instituted new/additional web filtering, here is the list they gave us:

quote:

Here is a list of the main categories that are blocked.
Alcohol-Tobacco
Drug/Non-medical
Gambling
Gross Depictions
Militant/Extremist/Weapons
Occult/New Age
Racism/Ethnic Impropriety
Sex/Acts & Sex/Attire & Sex Ed & Sex/Nudity
Violence/Profanity

The fact that I can still access this site must mean that none of that stuff goes on in here.
Whew, that's a relief.
; )

I can't access Web mail or E-bay! I'm sure it won't be long before this site is banned also

LMAO (or whatever that means). My ex-employer did the same thing, they, not only, wanted me to show up but actually do some work. What a nerve! I showed them! I retired!

Realistically, some sites should be filtered. But a guy needs to be able to look at good stuff on their breaks. I got around the whole deal by bringing in my lap top and hooking up to an analog phone line. When ask I told them that it was work I did at home. Then I retired.

So far none of the MC boards I visit have been blocked. Course, the SO is a bit more lack on that.

The Military/Gov have all forums blocked...no looking at work for me (but I can ebay). Which kinda sucks, cuz by the time I get home its 10-11pm EST so I really don't have the live interaction with the conversations going on. Than I eat dinner, spend 1-2hrs catching up on what went on throughout the day. Than my nights over. Now that I look at it... I see why she says I an OBSESSED"

Shawn

Will this stop me?...NOPE!!!

Back in HS they blocked a ton of sites. My friends and I came up with a simple solution to get around that. See, at the time we were on AOL. Well.... Install AOL on the computers and log on. Could get porn so easily with that.

WebSense controls my computer at work... I can get to EBay and here... I guess that can hold me over!

I love punching in a web address and seeing "Web pages under the category 'Tasteless' are filtered."

You don't know the half of it. ; )

We have security cameras too, funny thing is there is one section of the building with no cameras at all that also has an exterior unalarmed door, yet there are two cameras pointing at one of the time clocks with a third one outside pointing at the employee entrance and a 4th and 5th one pointing at the employee parking area. We were told it's for employee safety. Yeah, uh huh, sure.
