Any of you Atlanta guys have experience with http://www.1888fastlap.com/store/customer/home.php ? They have some amazing prices on "Kobe" leathers that they carry (exclusively I guess). A friend of mine got a Kobe ventilated leather jacket from them last year for ~$70 that was unbelievably good for the price. |

also great deals available at the international motorcycyle shows -- limited styles and sizes, but what they've got is often a real bargain |

Bomber, we went to the bike show yesterday. Charlie (New12r) had been looking for leathers. He's hard to fit (like me, long and lanky), he found last year's style Alpine Star one piece race leather. $500 OTD! And it fit! |

good for him! I'll be trolling for a new lid for me, and some armored pants for my wingman (wife -- whose trip to the gap last year revealed the need for knee armor!) |

motorcycle-superstore.com is good. Their prices are usually right around the same as new enough (except for closeouts), but the selection is HUGE. My gear is about half from them and half from new enough. Customer service is fairly good, new enough is slightly better in that area. Just don't try to ship to a different address than your billing address, that's been my only issue. |

er, full, I believe you are free to cmment on experiences you've had with any vendor -- though sponsors, of course, are preferred but,m hey, I've been wrong before |

there's a shop near me called Winter Haven (http://www.winterhavenllc.com) that has the best prices I've found lately for Joe Rocket gear Having said that, www.tonker.com has a better price for the GPX gloves I've been looking at...but Winter Haven's retail store is local for me so no shipping works out better Winter Haven is still worth a good look |

Can't see where Aerostich would be a competitor to any sponsor as Aerostich manufactures and markets their suits exclusively. In essence, there are no Aerostich dealers and the suits design and construction are an exclusive as well. Additionally, many BWB'ers from Court on down have expressed their satisfaction with the Aerostich suits. |

Court, what is the lifetime of those aerostitch suits, before they start to become unserviceable? 5 years? 10 years? 15 years? At some point the materials are going to start breaking down and functionality and safety will be compromised. I am curious where that point is. |

>>>But can you find a Chrome Buell gas cap? Funny you should ask, the answer is "YES", but it was tough. This part was produced as a special item by the P&A group at HD and never "went prime time". Your's will be available through Dave Steuve. Next question. CHROME GAS CAP: Part number: 61861-01Y Description: Chrome Gas Cap Assembly – Buell 95-02 |

>>>Court, what is the lifetime of those aerostitch suits, before they start to become unserviceable? 5 years? 10 years? 15 years? I wore, last weekend, my "old" one. For the record, I have done little to "preserve" it and loaning it to Henrik was the best thing I ever did as he had it reconditioned prior to returning it. In all candor, to realize the full benefit of the Aerostich I'd say between 5 and 10 years. My 5 year old suit is in excellent condition, my 10 year old suit is showing signs of "S-1 exhaust pipe syndrome". I am not an advertiser but I would PAY full price for an Aerostich before I would wear a FREE anything else. I get some stuff sent to me "comp", I pay full price for the Aerostich. I have for me, I have for Vickie (although she has never worn the perfectly good suit I bought her last) and I will in the future. By the way, testing has provided good reason to believe that (to paraphrase) "a sliding Aerostich 500 Denier suit is better than a tumbling leather" on the street. Also, for street use, the Aerostich is EASY to get on and off. You can watch the 10 second video on their website. As long time users, including Denise and I can tell you, a broken in Roadcrafter goes on like a glove. Court From last week...the good old "Lap of America" suit. |

My Roadcrafter 1-pc suit is about 5 years/60,000+mi old. I just sent it back for repairs (new collar lining, new reflector panels, new zippers, new armor). It still looks very good and is wearing quite well. Still waterproof also (use SeamSealer and Scotchguard as soon as you get the suit). I just washed it with Aerostitch's NikWax wash and wash-in waterproofing for the first time before applying Scotchguard (it normally just gets Tide before the Scotchguard). The Nikwax made a big difference in the feel of the suit, I thought it felt "broken in" before but now it feels much more comfortable. |

I do not believe Blake will have any trouble with an individual saying they got good or bad service from a business sponser or no. He does have a problem with non-sponsers coming on the board ans solicting business. He would also have trouble with someone bad mouthing a sponser WITHOUT a good, rational, verifiable expalantion. It would also need to be POLITE. Coming ans say Joe Blow site sponser is an ahole and his service ssucks because he wouldn't give me the part I wanted for a price I thought I could get elsewhere would not be acceptable. |

Thanks, thats the info I need. Once I wear out my First Gear jacket (a generous gift) I think I will get the 'stitch. Normal wear and tear shredded a joe rocket jacket in about 3 years, not sure how much further then that the first gear jacket will last. |

Duluth, MN vs something made in China? If you want quality, an American fit and company that stands behind their product and will alter or repair it regardless who owns it (read: resale value), I strongly suggest picking Duluth. The primary reason I never bought one is that I have yet to get to Duluth for a fitting. With short legs and long torso as well as big shoulders and small waist, I require a lot of alterations if I want one that doesn't pull across the back, have a waist line around my ribs or make my voice squeak when I move. If you can buy a business suit off the rack with minimal alterations, you will be pleased with their one piece suits with little or no alterations. A few of my hard to fit friends did ride or fly in from So Cal for a custom fitting and were quite pleased when the suits arrived. Since I went Harley on them, it just doesn't fit the image, but once I go back to sport touring I will make the effort to get one. |

When I got mine I had them ship me 3 suits of different sizes and I told them how each fit. I wound up with an off-the shelf size tho I customized the colors. Give 'em a call. They might have a "rack-suit" with shortened legs you can try for the correct length or whatever. |

www.aerostich.com - I don't have a suit but if my courier bag is any indication then it should outlast a bike or two. I think one motorcycle is about the break in perior for their combat boots, build for stout! www.langlitz.com - You could not imagine a cooler motorcycle garmet company. They also have the the largest bike book inventory in the local. Good old ebay too. |

Koz5150, I had to laugh when I saw your picture because my wife and I spent quite a few rides with bags over our wrists like that You never think you'll buy anything until you come out of the store and go, "Oh yea, I'm on the bike..." |

We went to a family get together and stopped at the store about a half mile before we got there. I didn't put the saddlebags on that day. I have the Corbin seat with the backrest so at least she could lean back for stability since she had no hands left to hold onto me. My wife had never ridden a bike till she met me. The first time we went for a ride she asked me not to lean the bike in the turns, it scared her. She has gotten over that and is a great passenger.... but only for me! |

Josh...Thanks for the info. However, I moved back to the Milwaukee Area after 30 years in So Cal and Duluth is only 390 miles and roughly 7 hours away at MapQuest speeds. I really have no excuse for not riding up for a fitting other than being up to my eyeballs in leather for the Buell and Harley. Like I said, put me back on a sport tourer and I will be up there in a NY Minute. LOL Another great thing about the Aerostich suits is the ability to be fully protected regardless what you wear underneath. Translation: You can dress for both the ride and the destination and not look like a biker dork when you get there. Guess you could call that the "Chameleon Concept." LOL |

I undeer stand that Aerostitich has a fitting room where you sit on a form that matches a bike so they can fit you for actually riding not standing around. |

I have to admit to a need to play it on the cheap sometimes. There's a seller on ebay by the handle of vdiscount that's got nice stuff at nice prices. I got a back/spine protector from him that er uh, worked very well, and I almost picked up one of his air mesh armored jackets 'cept that the local [forgive me] Honda shop had a Joe Rocket Ballistic on sale for under a hun'ed bills. http://stores.ebay.com/vdiscount |
