I believe all are by KBC. Can anyone speak to which helmet has best ventilation? How about ventilation:noise relativity? Thanks, Charlie |

All of the 05 Buell branded helmets are KBC VR-1's. They vent okay and are reasonably quiet. Shoei and Arai vent better and are a tad quieter. But I don't know if they vent $300 to 400 better. I've owned Shoeis in the past. I have two VR-1s right now. The climate in the high desert is harsh and trashes helmets pretty quickly. I figure I will be less heartbroken in a couple of years when I replace the KBCs given what I paid for them. |

>>>>which helmet has best ventilation? How about ventilation:noise relativity? I opened up a new Arai RX7 yesterday to use and the vents work fabulously, it's comfy and this one is about as dull (solid white) as you can get. Once you get past the rating (snell or dot) you are in the cosmetics zone.....venting, ease, optics, etc. Court |

Aside from vitally essential venting to clear/prevent face-shield fogging, I've rarely found helmet vents providing a significant improvement from one helmet to another. I do wear a skull cap. I've owned five helmets in my entire life. I'm shopping for a new one pending approval of the helmet fashion police here. |

Are these the helmets you're talking about, or are there others? http://www.hdofseaford.com/Inventory_c28195.html The two black helmets are awesome looking. One is HJC and the other is KBC. |

OK, this makes a lot of sense. The HD site has helmets that the Buell site does not. I bet the Buell boots are over there, too. I never considered looking at the HD site. This is the Buell.com collection: http://www.buell.com/en_us/bikes_gear/apparel/index.asp?Menu_ID=1&ID=73&bike_id= 0 I have the Redline, which is KBC. It fits my noggin very well, (better than anything else I have tried on so far,) but the ventilation is not promising with summer to come. (We will see.) Thank you for the info, men. Charlie |

I'm shopping for a new one pending approval of the helmet fashion police here Check out the KBC lineup, nice helmets that are DOT & Snell rated. Look great & very comfu plus they wont break the bank like a Shoei or Arai will. I picked up 2 KBC's for less then the price of 1 Shoei. |

Once you get past the rating (snell or dot) you are in the cosmetics zone.....venting, ease, optics, etc Dont forget paying for the name. I bought the wife a Nolan N100E flipup helmet..she has never liked helmets & im hoping to persuade her to at least wear it more often than she wore her other one. So far she likes it, better fit & is actually lighter than her full face non flip up she had before. Its DOT but not Snell rated. |
