My first concern is this may be a little too late for 2005. But there's nothing that says it has to start with January as the first month.

Second...who decides which pictures are in the calander? There are X number of Badwebbers. They'll all want their bike in the calander (I know I would). Is there some way to have a picture voting link (ya hearing me Mackay!!!)?

Here's my proposal...

Have Steve run a link to the Brew City website.
Photo section for calander entries.
Voting will be opening until the end of January.
Winning photos go into the 2005 calander.
Calander goes to print with March being the first month.
Repeat for 2006.

How does that sound?

I'm in for this, it would be like the poster effort!

And, I have some nice high-res pictures that might make the grade. But some might have people in them riding the bike. - I think that should count -

Like this one:

I'm with CJ, not everyone wants a skank of the month calendar. Oh, I'm a chick and I CAN ride.

Skank of the month? I dont think anyone is advocating putting naked wimmen folk in the calender...but rather the folks who actually own & ride their bikes & dressed as they would to ride.

Lake, that's a GOOD idea.
So what about a voting system on submitted pictures? My web site is setup idealy for this type of thing!

No problem here with having regular people, dressed for riding, or track action shots.

You're probably right : )
So if people think this is a good idea, I can create a section for people to vote on photos without having to register, and could just email me the photos, or just register at brewcitybrag.org

This is all if the majority think this is a good idea of course.

I looked into the costs of printing 250 calendars. At 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 they would be about $2440 and 8-1/2 x 11 they would be $4550. A lot more expensive than posters (250 posters were about $840). For a quantity of 250 just the printing charge is $9.54. Charging $10 a piece would lose money. Would have to charge closer to $20 each unless a larger quantity could be sold. Would 1,000 Buell calendars sell? Maybe but it's hard to say, especially at this late date and if they don't then who would eat the cost?

Creating the actual calendar would be easy since you only have to supply 14 photos and the printing company does the rest.

Here is a link to Printingforless.com. This is the company that was used to print the 20th posters. Their prices are very good. I found when checking local printers that they charged a fortune for any quantity less than 5,000 or so.

You can also get calenders printed thru Cafepress & the cost is like $15 each but the quality isnt the greatest.

Perhaps Dave knows of a place since Iowa HD had a couple calenders that featured a similar theme.

How bout a badweb sampling of every model made starting in Jan with the RW750? I realize there have been more models than months in the year, so some months would have a split shot of two bikes.

I agree that they would have to be badweb bikes though. Would be neat to see action pics too! Buells doing what they do best.

I just looked at that Cafepress deal. Pretty cool. People could upload their photos and then everybody could pick the photos they want and just make up their own calendar.

It wouldn't raise any money for anybody except for Cafepress but it would be an easy way for everyone to get their own custom Buell calendar.

I can check with the company that prints our calendars, but I think it will about in line with what M2me has found. But I can always check.

I like the idea of just people dressed getting ready to ride or cool riding pic's like Craig(99buellx1) posted above. Semi naked chick calenders or so common they aren't even cool anymore{to me anyway}.I gotta agree with the women on this, if I want T&A pic's I'll buy a T&A calender. The hooters pic ain't bad mind you, but lets see more bike. Put me down for at least 3 of the calenders.

Wow.. all I did was ask a question!
I am in for $50.00 towards the cost if you guys decide to do it.

Asr for the wimmen calendars, I'll save those pics for when the wifey gets back to modeling. But hey, a women of BadWeb calendar does sound like fun to do.

I think that if the calendar is going to feature "real'live" BWB bike perhaps they should be action shots.. no stills, no posed models.

Yep, got that magazine tucked away in my Buell archives. Have a whole stack & its getting to be pretty damn big with magazines that have Buells featured in them. All of the Battle/2wins, ATC's Weather report, etc.
