Has anyone had problems with the fit of a Corbin gunfighter seat on a M2 Cyclone or did I just get a bad one?

Do you have the post that screws into the seat adjusted right? I have a corbin and 2 friends have corbins , no problems if they are adjusted right.

This seat has rivets with rubber grommets on the bottom. No adjustment that I can see. I did shave the grommets and did a little post assembly forming. It's not too bad now.

M2nc,
the post that locks the seat into the frame is adjustable. I had it too tight on my X1 and the seat shook like there was no tomorrow. Loosen the lock nut and you can turn the post in or out as needed. If I remember its a 13mm or 1/2in nut.

Nope, I pulled the seat off the bike again and checked. The post is riveted on. One of two possibilities because you are the second person that told me the seat has adjustment. Either the X1 base is designed differently from the M2 or Corbin changed its designed to reduce complaints about the fit. I do have an inspection sticker on the post stating the placement is okay and it is. My problem was the rubber grommets were not placed very well so the back of the seat was an inch above the tail section of the bike before bolting it down. Even with the the seat bolted down, the rear of the seat stuck up about 3/4". I staved the grommets under the center of the seat then counter-bowed the seat. Now its only sticking up about 1/4". I'm going to give it a little time and let the temperature rise before I attempt to counter-bow the seat some more to get the last 1/4" out.

I have a corbin on my M2 and had no problems with the fit. I also have no idea where you could adjust it since like you said everything on mine is riveted.

FYI, the X1's have a post under the passenger pillion that interfaces with the key operated locking mechanism. If you don't adjust it properly when swapping saddles the saddle has too much lateral play.

Concerning the X1's, neither Buell's aftermarket two up saddle or the Corbin's come with this post. Thus the reason X1 folks buy a post and retaining nut for each saddle is it only takes a few seconds to swap saddles and no adjustments are required.

Sorry M2,
I thought they all would be the same with respect to seat latch. Seems an odd place to change the design, tho the tail on the M2 and X1 are pretty different.

Good luck with the custom fit.
