Manu Katche.
Played with Peter Gabriel, Mark Knopfler, Sting, Joan Armatrading and many many more. Made a few solo albums as well.

Phil Collins is worth mentioning.

Who do you like (name bands he played with too please)?

Some more:

Had to look up their names though. I remember band names better than their members' names.

Omar Hakim (David Bowie, Sting, Joan Osborne)
Morris Pert (Peter Gabriel, Paul McCartney, Kate Bush)
Jeff Porcaro (TOTO!!)

Anyone mentioned Steve Gadd yet?
I saw Steve Gadd years ago in a very small night club with a band (I believe it was Stuff), great drummer to watch live and close up.
Terri Bozzio was also great with UK and check out Phil Collins with Brand X.

How about..........

Bill Bruford
Alan White
Tommy Lee (for showmanship)
Chester Thompson
Buddy Rich (old school)
Carl Palmer

Gene Krupa. Long before most of you young squirts' time, but better than most; past or present. I have a recording made in 1952 of the drum battle between Krupa and Buddy Rich at the Jazz At The Philamonic concert. They were in a class of their own.
