Dave,
put me down for one. I think you have enough info to make it happen. Let me know if you don't

d@mn Dave, you beat me to it. I was just gonna post up a a pic to show everyone how slick this turns out. I picked up a "Deltran Battery Tender Junior" from my HD Boutique. Rather happy in that it came with one of those pigtail connectors that you leave attached to the bike so it is always ready to be plugged in - I thought I was going to have to find and purchase one of these separately... Ok, this is really simple, nothing worth bragging about and no skills involved ; ) but [excuse the crappy picture] you can see here where I was able to feed the charge wire under the cross-brace of the undertail and to the battery under the seat. I did not have to remove the tail plastic to do this. The plug end is in the storage tray area. A I gotta do is pop the pillion seat to plug it in & charge. So nice. So easy.

and if you stick it out the side you can put the seat back on.just have to remember to unplug it before you go for a ride.

Dave, I dont need one for my Buell but I could use one for the R1: D

Also could you get an extra set of cables so I could wire up the HD also? They are like $6 or so.

If you can get them by the 29th that would be great, will pay for it when I pick up the rest of the stuff.

I have em on all my bikes (4) and my lawnmower, snowmobiles, boat, and 77 Chev van (restored). They definately extend battery life. I got 8 years out of a battery in my VFR 750. Get em hooked up and be ready to ride when ya want to ride!

actually, unhooking your batteries for storage is better for longevity, best of both worlds is to both discon. batteries and keep a tender on 'em.
second only to being a real motorcyclist and riding year-round...

I hook up the tender to each item (bikes, lawnmower ect) one day a month... Motorcycle Consumer News did a deal a few years back saying it wasn't necessary to keep it hooked up all the time.. It has worked well with me and my batteries have given me good service.....
A bud of mine handles the bikes for the City of Pgh where they ride year round... Yea sidecars and even chains at times, he sayes 1 year tops for a lead acid battery... I get at least 2 years at of my lead acid... My old flatty has K cells for the battery and is kick start but it has lasted 12 years....

I think the Battery Tender Daves is selling is the Battery Tender Jr. model. It has a chip that cycles automatically so the battery gets to a certain discharge point and it comes on again. I ride weekly, but can't yet manage to ride daily all the time, so anytime my bike is in the garage my Battery Tender Jr. is plugged into it. Still the original battery from a June 02 manufactured XB. Cranks over like new every time so far.

actually, unhooking your batteries for storage is better for longevity
Agreed.
best of both worlds is to both discon. batteries and keep a tender on 'em.
Agreed, again.
second only to being a real motorcyclist and riding year-round...
Agreed, once again. But a Battery Tender Jr. is worth the cost just in case.
Mike.

my current (PI) L/A batt. from interstate has been on my rat for over 5 years as well...
maybe you guys should change brands

(01991) $33.95 Battery Tender Plus 12 Volt #0210128

(39557) $19.95 Battery Tender Jr. 12 Volt #0210123

Well that would be quite a bit under dealer cost for the ones I'm selling so I don't know why they would do that.

t9r that is what is known as a loss leader, where a company will sell (quantity limited) an item for cost, or even at a slight loss, hoping you will buy some other stuff to make up a minimum order. this is a common business tactic of mass merchandisers. if you want warehouse prices and are happy with warehouse service, then go ahead and shop there. dont expect them to have a clutch cable, drive belt, or voltage regulator for you when you find the need. be thankful for all the choices you have. regards, dean
