As I sit here going through withdrawl, ( nicotine ) I think Kevyn has it almost right, and that ...... Taliban? Dude! This issue, recreational drugs, is so old that we may not have had language when Fred Flintstone discovered that "that plant" over there made catching rodents for dinner more fun.

I sometimes wonder what miracle of circumstance, spawn of serendipity, is Coffee. You have to pick, soak, peal, dry, burn, crush, dissolve, & drink with optional sucrose & animal fat to get the desired effect. What ARE the odds on that the first time? Either a holy light or junior alchemist with a mission, wow. Great drug.

It seems this nice Buell racer was nailed trying to keep his habits at home. If he was growing for sale, ( not mentioned as a charge ) he's an idiot to do so on his own property. It looks like he just wanted to do his own thing without paying into the orginized crime operation that crops up whenever an uptight society bans a "vice". I hope he can come back from this wiser, and with his property more or less intact. Current U.S. laws are unconstitutional when it comes to theft by the "authorities".

FYI, in FL trafficking (which carries stiff minimum mandatory sentences/fines) starts at 4 grams for oxycodone (weight of any mixture conatining the drug so it would be tablet weight, not drug content of tablet). Oxycotin tablets are small when compared to other oxycodone preps even though the smaller oxycotin tablets contain more oxycodone. So, with the small number of tablets he had he is under trafficking weight for oxycodone (though unlawful possesion is a felony)
Cultivation of MJ is a felony. Possession of less than or equal to 20 grams is a misdemeanor, above that is a felony. Trafficking starts at 25 lbs for MJ. That is a major concern as will the weight of all his plants (the whole plant is controlled)reach 25 lbs.? Minimum/mandatory sentence for first tier MJ trafficking is 3 yrs and $25K fine.

Of course remember, he has not been found guilty of anything.

Frank

I just hope that Dave will come out of this OK - looks grim from what Ive read here.
Lets give him a break here - If he were, oh lets say a professional football player for instance, he could have been pulled over for DUI, with a loaded pistol, some dead hookers in the trunk, 1 kilo of cocaine on the seat beside him, 20 pounds of pot in the back seat, all while with a needle in his arm after pushing about 2ccs of H and that would be OK !
i dont rember if any of you rember, or even care, but the QB for my team ( the TN Titans, or as I like to call them this year the Tits )was pulled over in Nashville, DUI with a loaded Glock 40 in the seat beside him. He got a small fine and some community service, That was it !There is a great disparity between how athletes and us mere mortals are treated , but that brings up a whole different conversation !

He will be very lucky if he gets to keep his house and all his possessions. If the story is true and they were watching him for over a year that probably means he was selling to to others. It sounds like he is in a lot of trouble.

Damn Kevyn! This is about a Buell racer. You need to go for a ride my friend. Seriously.

Did Buell already pull him off their website? I swear he used to be in the racer profiles section:
http://www.buell.com/en_us/mania/racing/racerprofiles.asp
He is still in some articles in the racing news section at this time.

If found guilty he can only blame himself. But, I feel sad for the circle of family, friends, racing fans, mechanics, sponsors, etc. that he has impacted. First because the part of their lives that they invested in him will never be the same and second, because some of them who knew what was going on must be asking themselves why they didn't do more to try and stop him.

Good luck, dude.
Mike.

My apologies for 'diverting' the topic.

Some may consider marijuana a 'recreational drug' but the fact remains that it carries criminal penalties for possession and cultivation...

Ya takes yer chances...

Tripper, I see 17 pictures under the racer profiles and Dave Estok is not in the first row or any row.

The first news article is about him but his profile is gone as far as I have been able to see.
Mike.

As before, I wish him well and pray this is all a big misunderstanding.

However, I am not naive and IF this situation is as bad as it looks on the surface, he brought the pain and agony upon himself and it is a disgrace to Buell and the entire racing team effort.

I wouldn't worry about the Buell Racing Team if I were you. There are plenty of great riders available that are just looking for a chance to break into the big leagues. Perhaps the next Shining Star will come from the ranks of the BWB members. You never know.

"If he was guilty of distributing that stuff, he should be put away."

"Dude, nothing was mentioned about distributing, but your comment is a fine example of how things get blown out of all proportion. Know what I mean."

I don't know why you think I blew anything out of proportion. The guy was arrested with Oxycontin and I said if he was distributing it, he should be put away. I never said he was, only if..., Dude. A jury of his peers will determine what he is guilty of, not me.

Hmmm...I get the feeling the word "IF" should be replaced by the mathematical expression "IFF" which in this scenario would mean "If and only If" found guilty.

Too many folks have had their lives ruined by excessive Pre-Trial publicity and public opinion where only a slap on the wrist was warranted, if that.
