Looking for some help here. I recently purchased a 12R and I wanted to know if there was any way to "wax" if you will, my plastics. I have the great looking black, so all shows really well. just wanted to know if any one has tried to remove the fine scratches from day to day wear, or is this some thing some one should take to a professional??? Novex make a polish specificly for plastics. Comes in 3 grades. Works great on my Black X1 MadGaz | ||

The novus will work great. Follow the instructions on the bottle for best results. Novus 3 is for pretty heavy scratches, and you have to follow it up with novus 2 which will buff it out nicely. For the sealer, Novus 1 will take off the static charge so it does not attract dust, but will come off with water (i.e. rain). I don't think the novus 1 actually polishes anything. The Harley Glaze sealer wax for plastic does a better job of sealing (though still not perfect). I am still looking for a really good sealer (something gasoline resistant). | ||

I use SEA POWER boat wax sold at West Marine. Gives great protection and shine. | ||

Looks Good, hey I appreciate all the help, looks as though I am getting the Novus plastic polish kit 1-2-3. The rep also is selling me this clay brick that is supposed to help, I will keep ya posted as to how it turns out!!.. Again thanks for your guys time. Paul F | ||

Paul, since the clay brick is intended to remove dirt from paint pores, and our plastics don't have pores in their surface, I wonder how it'll work on the fine scratches (which the Novus is supposed to be removing anyway)... let us know if it's worth the extra effort... Steve | ||

I use Novus followed by Harley Glaze. The glaze appears to work like a compound- it actually turns the rag slightly red. After using both the bodywork has a noticably "softer" feel. Mike L. '04 XB12R '99 Z50R |
