I have my eye on an XB9s in black with the race kit. Will this bike have the lowend torque of my Cyclone? Will the Lightening have this type of problem?:

This pic is from an XB12r. I think I can get at least $4000.00 for my 2000 Cyclone while they are asking $6999.00 for the used race kitted XB9s. I want to get them down on the price as well. You think my ride and an extra $2000.00 is a nice upgrade over my Cyclone? You think haveing the XB is worth the extra $2000.00? Anybody having any common issues with their new style Buells? Also, how much is a nice well kept one owner stock 2000 Cyclone worth?

Mike

Trade in Value is around $3500.00 dollars for an 00M2, Which I think is a rip! I will never sell mine! If you can take it for a test ride you will know if it is a valued trade or not. Don't just take it around the block if you are serious about the trade it should be no problem to take it out for an hour to really ride it that is if it's from a dealer.

That is the first broken engine mount I have seen of for an XB12 or 9. I have heard of the Isolators having problems but even that still is seemingly rare. I am not sure if the 9 will have the low end torque you are used to, I am sure one of the Tuber owners that jumped to a 9 will be able to give you a comparison : )

For me, I like both the Tubers and my XB. Both have their own character and feel.

I traded my Cyclone in for $3000. It was nice, but well used, with close to 30k miles on it.

I got the 05 9sx, and love it. I have an emotional bond to the old M2, but the Cityx is better all around, no comparison.

With the airbox mode and K&N filter (stock exhaust), it feels like the bottom end is very close to my rejetted, supertrapped and forcewinderd M2. It feels a little slower, but looking at the speedo shows that it is probably a little faster.

I sold my 99 Cyclone for the XB9. No regrerts. I sold the thing in April and it went fast for $5000 in 2002. It was not in great shape but had only about 6000 miles on it. It had a few dingers like a big scratch in one of the wheels and some scuffs in the paint.

I thikd selling it at the right time, just as the weather was warming up here made a huge difference. Always sell in spring buy in fall up here in wisconsin.

Mfell2112,

I rode a xb9r last fall that was piped and was disappointed - too smooth - it's almost embarrassing to say.

The torque of the tubers is the second thing I fell in love with, the first was the look of that S1.

Reading your bio you will probably enjoy the newer bike but might want to hold out for a 12. You won't miss the shake but may miss the yank.

Mfell2112,
I traded a '00 M2 last fall ('03) for an XB12R. I had riden several 9's prior to that but my seat of the pants dyno was more impressed with the M2's torque over the 9.

The 12 is definately a move up though. I thought I rode the M2 a lot but I've already put just under 9500 miles on the 12 in 15 months. I REALLY LIKE THE XB12R!!

my opinion, your results may vary...
